Aint nothin to worry about here guys. Just an observation. Let's backtrack a little bit......Remember when we got EG in the draft? Well duh, of course you do. Remember the story about punching his own player from Seton Hall? All of us then figured that he probably had a bad attitude with anger problems. So far.....(knock on wood ) he looks like the complete opposite of what I thought. When you see this guy play on the court with his shyness...who would have ever thought that he had a couple of rumbles in the past with his teammates. In fact he would be the last person i would have guessed to do those things. I don't know whether he is maturing, learning from his mistakes, or because he is playing against guys 10 years older than him. He seems to be fitting in nicely into this team. While he is being a perfect angel...unlikely guys like Mo T and Francis get busted. I wonder what makes this guy tick. What did you guys think he would be like when you heard of his punching incidents? This should be fun.
I thought that he is just another young kid that got in a fight. He is still young so he is going to make some more mistakes but hopefully will not turn into a punk. And I also thought that CATO SUCKS!
I have this one thought that has been bouncing around my head the last few months. No matter what I am doing: watching a game, playing nintendo, takin a dump, etc.... I always think about how bad CATO SUCKS!!!!!!!
does anyone know what really happend in a locker room when EG punched his teammate?.. I don know for sure... but someone told me that it wasnt all EG's fault.. I just don see ANYONE punching someone for not passing the ball.. there must be some other reasons
GotGame, you are so right. That's exactly what I've been thinking. I could not even fathom Eddie Griffin punching a teammate...hell, even Eddie Griffin getting mad! And honestly, I really don't see his attitude changing in the future. He's so quiet, so polite, so calm...and to think, a lot of teams didn't pick him because they figured his attitude was a red flag. Eddie, if you're reading this, much love. From a brotha to a brotha...you are one awesome guy. I hope you're in H-Town your entire career.
a few points (indulge me) -if you've played on sports teams, you would've disliked a player or two over that time. If that person said /did something more serious than not passing, i'm not surprised he "snapped" (i nearly always want to take a baseball bat to our reserve PG's knees after a bad loss... such a nice fantasy). -A lot of prominant NBA players have been involved with team-mate related fights. Excluding the poor misguided soul of Vernon Maxwell, these people are/were said to be players of "good character": MJ had a punch-on with Steve Kerr; Gary Payton had one with a few team-mates, including Maxwell; and Kevin Garnett was recently seperated from Wally "World" S!@#biak (like i know now to spell his name!). Not to imply Eddie is in the same class as those 3 as a on court player, but... -Most, if not all, of us are VERY different people in high school to we are in university/college as we are when we (unfortunately get forced to) join the workforce. People grow up and mature (even from 17 to 19). -That many zeros on a pay check would make me behave too! What in life could i get pissed with! Would be fun trying to find ways to get annoyed.
We have all been there before, especially at 18...such competitors that sometimes the fury gets to us during one of those weak moments! Maybe, just maybe Eddie is not Mister Cool and Calm when he is the man! Maybe, he expects his teammates to get him the ball when he is the man! Maybe, he cannot stand playing with players who do not take the game seriously! Who Knows...but it appears he is a very humble type person right now...maybe when he establishes himself that fury will arise again...it probably will..... It would be interesting to hear from anyone who followed Seton Hall b-ball and was around at that time...to hear what really happened......
