Well, at least they'll be rid of that pesky Cornhusker Kickback. What a relief. Scalia to the rescue!

Actually it was after he was elected when the insurance companies talked him into it but whatever. No one cares about being correct around here.

You seem quite proud of it - enough to bring it up completely off topic and suggest that losing a symbolic vote on a budget that was dead on arrival is somehow "pouring rain" for Obama, when in reality, it won't actually affect *anything* at all for him.

of course it's a total shame to have your budget supported by no one even in your own party. I take no pride in anything anyone else does (unless it was my kid). Your assumptions are dumb.

Tomorrow the judges will make their decision. The esteban's household will hold an all day vigil. I will take a day off, go to Mass and pray like hell. I hope my conservative posters here will join me.

let's hold all-day vigils against government programs designed to be more efficient than the worst healthcare system in the developed world.

I'm not sure that's how the big fella up there intended things. I guess next time there is a step back on Dodd-Frank, I'll put in a good word with a Christian action or two---despite not being Christian.

Except it's not - it's a purely political vote that had no consequence on anything. I seriously doubt either Obama or Democrats care at all about the vote. What's amusing is that you found it to be important in some way. That's my point about symbolic victories.

So Jesus and The Pope want you to take a day off to pray for not helping the sick and the poor?

No one is arguing that we need to improve on our healthcare system. ObamaCare is not about healthcare, do we need to debate this again???

BTW- Just to let you know, part of being a Catholic is the charity works that you do.I've set my own quotas every month doing pro-bono works for the poors and the wounded veterans.

Have you done anything to help others Dubious?

Reading the right wing responses on this thread just makes me all the more depressed about this case.

God knows if this gets struck down we'll ever get any health reform at all. Plus this was the Republican plan. Now that we know their proposal got struck down and literally the only thing allowed is a single payer system, then we'll get zilch for 50 years at this rate.

    :(

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.

    Matthew 6.3

isn't the first time this has happened.

ObamaCare is not about healthcare though; it's about skis and fur hats. And rack city.

The judges might make their decision tomorrow but it won't be until June when they will make it public.

Same with me. I see the point that the individual mandate is a violation on absolute freedom and an overreach by the Federal government. That said wouldn't be gleeful about a ruling that just sets health care back to the status quo of two years ago.

Other than tort reform and opening up states to insurance competition, something that would also be an overreach if mandated by the Federal government, I haven't seen any major solutions to addressing the health care situation.

Save your tired old sermon. I was responding to Dubious because he was under the impression that whoever opposes ObamaCare is heartless and does not give a crap about the sick and the poor.

We don't need any health care reform, in 20-30 years we will spend about 30% of GDP each on health care and defense, the country would be in great shape!

I tell you you have a twisted sense of morality. That's a real service to you.
When you figure out it is you, you can be relieved of your persecution complex.
Your stress factor will go way down.

    You'll thank me.
