Once the US learns that we cannot solve everything with dropping the proverbial hammer on other people just because they do not agree with us will be when we finally see some change. Military force is not the answer to every problem. It will not be long and the US will not be the only superpower. The sooner that everyone understands this and begins to adopt a mindset of working with others rather than thumping our chest the better off EVERYONE will be. The world is changing yet we are not.
You have to try and understand, different people look at the situation with different eyes. I’m not saying who’s right or who’s wrong. I think that’s what we get hung up on. And why at least talking to people opens the possibilities of understanding and resolving conflict.
seriously, think about this in real life context: could they're not be a more childish policy than we're not talking to you. you're not one of the cool nations. and i'm not talking about hamas
I agree. In addition to that, I've changed my mindset on things quite a bit. I grew up in an ultra conservative family and only in the last couple of years have I changed the way I think and feel about things. Marrying a Swede definitely helped move that along since they are ultra liberal. Seeing different cultures and learning that, guess what, there are other ways of doing things other than the American way. Guess what else, they can be pretty freaking successful at it. The US may actually be able to learn about something from someone else. Wow, who'd have ever considered something like that?
Have you ever taken a Political Science class in your life? This is literally third grader logic right here, folks. Diplomacy is a bit more complex than the ridiculous caricature that you have depicted here. What scares me is that you seem to have convinced yourself, right here in this very thread, that your logic is sound. Wow. WOW.
You know, T_J, not everything in the entire world has be based upon a freaking college course. You remind me of the guy in the Kanye West song that gets his degree tattoo'd on his back except for the fact that you are an arrogant ******* on top of it. Not talking to a country that you do not agree with is ridiculous. I don't give a **** what your Rice college professor told you. It's silly.
dude what political science studies have you taken to suggest otherwise. you're such an arrogant tool, why don't you tell us your credentials for once. you're so full of crap its not even funny. refute what i said. how has not talking to cuba helped us. did it help them overthrow castro. is their country any less communist. refute my statement or provide your credentials or stfu
pgabs, please read: But it's interesting to know that you now are on a crusade to OVERTHROW CASTRO. This meltdown is pure greatness...
you guys who think this not talking to countries policy still has any relevance need to read this thread and the accompanying article. while the dunces in the class were discussing rev wright, we were actually discussing real world issues. you guys can catch up. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=141670
who said anything about overthrowing castro? I'm asking what did this policy do with cuba. the onus is on you to answer the question. I've provided my thoughts, now you provide yours. please, the class is waiting
