perfect timing, the internet is a mofo will not meet ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: President Jimmy Carter is heading to Syria next week and is slated to meet with Hamas representatives. This presents a unique situation for presidential candidate Barack Obama – who is well documents saying he'd meet with America's "friends and enemies" if he were President, one difference he has with Senator Clinton. But Obama draws the line at meeting with Hamas.
Send all of the white people back to Europe. Maybe let the part white and black people stay for part of the year of a visa or some such, then back to Europe with their sorry asses. You wait. You see.
Hey! And he's talking to Hamas! America hater! God forbid we actually try and engage people we don’t agree with to try and find solutions. Cause you know, not talking to them has worked out so well!
Of course he's gonna say that - how convenient It's an election year! He's gonna say wat all the "typical white people" want to hear. His actions will speak louder than words just as his radical Pastor, his radical domestic terrorist friend -Bill Ayers, and his radical "we need more white people at our event" wife. The guy is a wolf hiding in sheeps clothing.
Talking to known terrorists who show no remorse for their actions and suffered no conseqeunces is ok with you? Talking is just that - talk. Clinton talked to Arafat more than any other sitting President, what good did that do? Did it stop the violence?
well if I were Jewish, I'd be VERY concerned about the comments below... CHICAGO -- It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York. A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking. "I am confident that Barack Obama is more sympathetic to the position of ending the occupation than either of the other candidates," said Hussein Ibish, a senior fellow for the American Task Force on Palestine, referring to the Israeli presence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that began after the 1967 war. More than his rivals for the White House, Ibish said, Obama sees a "moral imperative" in resolving the conflict and is most likely to apply pressure to both sides to make concessions. http://www.latimes.com/news/la-na-obamamideast10apr10,1,2431765.story
Whether you like it or not, Hamas is a duly elected majority member of the Palestinian government. Whether you agree with their policies or not is irrelevant. The Palestinian people support them and if we are to try and improve relations with them or try to get them to see our point of view, they must be talked to. And yes, I believe for a while Clinton’s talks with Arafat were productive.
The problem with Terrorists is they don't believe in Capitalism or Democracy. We are a country along with the rest of the civilized world that believes in making deals. Terrorists don't believe in any thing we do. So how do you make deals or talk to people that don't believe in anything we do? Their solution is for us to disappear. They want Israel to disappear and they want us to disappear. Terrorists are a people of absolutes. They either want it their way or will be willing to die for it. There is no compromise or deals to be brokered with terrorists. Jimmy Carter going to visit Hamas is futile and stupid. If anything, it continues to show how weak the American people are and it gives Hamas and terrorists around the world the hope that we will bow down to them eventually. Jimmy Carter's actions will do more harm on Americans than any good.
BINGO The_Conquistador has discovered the perfect Barack Obama metaphor. Look for it later this afternoon as its own thread. HO HO HO
I have never understood why people think that talking to other countries that we do not agree with is a bad thing. I think that you HAVE to talk to them. It isn't like what we have done in countries such as Cuba has worked. For 40 years we've not talked to Cuba and boy has that worked. I think that these are the countries that we need to talk to the most.
After years of talks with Clinton and Arafat, the Palestinian people got tired of TALK. So they elected a Terrorist group to lead them.
Talking with civilized countries and people that can be reasoned with - Yes. Talking with terrorists and nations that harbor, finance, and incite their own people to hate us - no.
You can't even TALK to them? Are you serious? Why can't you talk to them? I'm not saying have them over for beer and bbq, just freaking talk to them. I cannot for the life of me understand how talking to someone can be wrong.
One man's terrorist group is another man's road builder, food provider, and protection from hostile attacks from other copuntries.
You can talk to them ONCE they pay consequences for their actions. To acknowledge them and let them get away with murder with no consequences is stupid.
