u shoulda tripped him and as he fell slapped him really hard in the back of the head then kicked the mother in the ass
Since we're all fabricating here.. I think this was a particularly sensitive kid. He was slamming the door because he wanted it closed quickly to prevent the airconditioned air from escaping. He's thinking about the environment people!!! Either that, or he's just a punk.
maybe...just maybe, the kid thought MFW was trailing him pretty close (3 steps is pretty damn close) with either the intention of theft or for the intention of making love to his mother which would ultimately cause divorce between his parents and ultimate sorrow for the rest of his life. if either of these is true, the kid was acting in self defense and should actually be seen as a patriot, rather than a kid who is taking our country to hell.
Well, if you read the initial post, MFW stated that the kid slowed down, looked at him, and then slammed the door. That's pretty intentional.
I think ppl are just upset that victim mentioned that the fact that the kid was black. In this psuedo PC world we call the Clutch BBS ppl get upset when this labeling happens in public.
my bad. i missed that. that is definately intentional and uncalled for and if i was in that situation i would no doubt say something to the kid - isn't that just a normal reaction? to confront? i guess not...
for some reason, every time i read your posts...i think it's going to be "the other side of things...the brightside" sometimes it is...sometimes it isn't - but you definately have expectations there - just thought i'd let you know.
Deckard, don't you wish you post the one above instead of the article mocking the sexuality of some weird kids in China?
I just did! And the article I posted quoted a Chinese government official, describing what most people would think, in this country, in my opinion, as a rather strange way of looking at sexuality. It was posted as an attempt at humor, but came straight from Reuters. I didn't make it up.
Well, let's see: 1. Stupid things, been there done that. Guilty. Overreacted, definitely. Caused trouble, to a certain extent, absolutely. Raise both hands. But somehow "kids being kids" is now the excuse for everything today. Apparently people no longer distinguish the difference "acting stupid" and intending to injure somebody else. Seriously, after reading the reaction here, I really am not surprised why so many people in GARM suggested that EG (being 21 yr old at the time) shouldn't be expected to know that shooting his girlfriend is wrong. 2. To make it better than 1, I can't believe how many people here suggested that I should beat the kid. Sarcastic or not, I don't think that's funny. But seeing how that is how society functions today, I'm sorry, next time an 11 year old pulls that stunt I'll make sure I wring his neck. And then I'll feel like a real world superhero. As for the kid, hey, he'll grow up and be violent/beat kids just like me. 3. Gotta love the race card. And I love this guy Deckard I tell you. He felt the need to lecture me on racism for an inadvertent remark (which I btw, apologized for) on the race of the kid, yet he felt the need to mock sexuality of Chinese people or anybody else. Yet nobody bothered to call him out. I love it. 4. In retrospect, I should have talked to his mother. Next time I will.
I hope you have probably realized by now your attempt at humor was not very well received in this thread, especially by someone like MFW with whom you had a little history.
I agree..that kids are immature. But some are mature. Parents and everybody else need to help discipline kids. Pretty screwed up I would have been mad. Maybe you just encountered a really bad kid.
I think the main problem here is that people are taking the "country is going to hell" statement too seriously. It was an obvious exaggeration (like much bbs content). Also, I don't believe that MFW should have stepped in and said/did something. It isn't his job to discipline the child, and a confrontation like that could have possibly led to something much worse. There are a lot of crazy people out there. My two cents.
I laugh at this thread, just look at the title. After what happened in London, you got some nerve naming the thread this, just 'cause some punk kid gave you trouble, our country is going to hell... People died in London, and you complain about some kid. Your a piece of ****.
I feel really bad about the people in London, but your post is just freakin' brilliant. Yet somehow, some here think that we are doing a good job teaching kids about manner, respect and discipline... Look in the mirror lately?
My wife and I once drove a black female co-worker of my wife's to her grandmother's home in North St. Louis. On the way back out of the neighborhood where we dropped the woman off, some young black children began pointing at our car as we drove by shouting "Look, white people". My first reaction was maybe they had never seen white people in their neighborhood before. That's what I get for watching to much Star Trek as a child. Boldly going where no one has gone before.
