Lost in all this excitement is Brooks. He looks like a shorter version of Mike James( Toronto Version).

    A possible line-up:

    Francis
    Tmac
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

Brook as third PG. Rafer, Head, Novak for bench clearners.

Luther's a better closer than Wells. He's hit a bunch of clutch 3's over the past two years and would space the floor for Yao, Scola, and Tmac to work inside.

This time is different. we have a new coach now that will play to our main two players strengths. scoring. yao and tracy are at there best when there offensively aggressive. something gundy refused to implement for whatever reasons.

We added two very good scoring guards and a rookie who can start contributing straight away. it's not like were only adding a washedup Anderson and a mentally challenged player Stromile.

Not to mention Scola, who seems to be a perfect fit for Adleman's style.

Wells is a better cutter, finisher and more of a mismatch than Luther, who will probably find it difficult getting on the court this upcoming season.

Image this, Scola setting screens for TMac & TMac seeing wide open lanes or cutters, then again giving it back to Scola for a wide open ten footer. A pass first mentality makes the game of basketball a lot easier. When you play with unselfish players it elevates everyones game. What I noticed about Scola is that he never stops moving and is always trying to create an off balance situation. These are fundamentals of the game when you learn the game correctly. I have never enjoyed the style of previous Rockets teams but I have always loved the Rockets. This should be a fun season to watch.

    Good post...here's my two cents:

I expect Adleman to do quick a bit of experimenting and giving guys like Brooks opportunities to play. That said he has some tendancies IMO.

I can see Mike James fitting very well into a Bobby Jackson type roll...instant offence off the bench.

I can also see the obvoius need to play lots of 3-gaurd small-ball. However I would not be suprised to see a PF (Hayes or Scola) come in for Yao when he gets into foul trouble.

Adleman like to have shooters at all postions, create match-up problem for the other team and exploit it for open looks.

Based on that I make the following predictions:

--Mutumbo will play only spot minuets (except when Yao is out).

--Mike James will be the 6th man.

--Yao, Hayes ans Scola will get 90% of the front court minuets (with Hayes and Scola on the floor at the same time often).

--Bonzi will create alot of matchup problems and will be the 1st option down the strech against some teams (depending on the matchups).

--Guards that can't hit the open 3 or break down the defence off the dribble (Rafer) won't play much. (Taking care of the ball isn't as high on Adleman's prioities as is was VanGundy's.)

--Brooks will see PT and be encouraged to take it to the hole.
