If the team RAN the offense they would have beaten the Spurs...but MeMac controlled the ball and stopped moving and the offense bogged down. Rick Adelman is NOT the problem. DD
The problem is not our coach. The problem is our point guards. Also now many Yao and TMAC's shots are taken by other players. Yeah, maybe it is coach.
I don't know what NBA you were watching in the 80s/90s, but no one considered Drexler to be better than Jordan.
I agree, Media always claim Yao Tmac Artest need time to get familiar, but in this season. Especialy for 3 lost games, we can't see sharp attack, also no good defense. most time, 1Vs1 in court----- by a chinese rockets fan
Anyone translate this pls? I agree on what it says in this part http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2008-11-18/11534077742.shtml
yeah... Adelman is one of the best coaches this organization has seen. he isnt the problem. injuries and half-a$$ed implementaion of his offense by the players is the problem. T-mac needs to practice RUNNING the offense in his head rather than reverting back to the Orlando offense. all that said. im sure eventually everything will gel and threads like this wont pop up as often again.

the b****ing and whining reached a new low there in China. If your stars can not play 82 games a season and 35 minutes a game, they are the problem. They should feel sorry when they are collecting the paychecks from Les. Adelman's job is to let them play not to let them sit.
The problem is always the coach IMO. If Tmac is holding the ball, its up to the coach to tell him to not hold the ball. Thats kind of what I liked about JVG is how if someone wasn't following his gameplan JVG wasn't having it. The only problem was when his gameplan sucked. Not that I think Adelman is bad for the team, I'm just saying you can't blame a player for doing the wrong things when the coach isn't trying to correct him.
Jeff and Rick has the same problem. Not knowing how to control Tracy. Do you sit your star player down after a mistake he makes? Do you yell at your star player? I have never seen Jeff yell at Tracy, nor has Rick. Would I like them too? Yes. Tracy as a star player should know his responsibilities and know how to control his urge to shoot.
There is the argument as to whether or not he has a problem with Tmac running the clock down late in games and then trying to make a play. Some coaches like going to that style because it puts the game in their star players hands. How hard is it to "control" Tmac? All you have to do is call a play, or at the very least say "MOVE THE BALL". It's not that hard. To give Tmac some credit, he's played a lot less of that "give me the ball and let me do something with it at the top of the 3 point line" offense. If he is ever given the ball its either on the wing or in the post now.
IMO, McGrady is our best passer. I want the ball in his hands, I just don't want him dribbling the clock down and firing up a 20+ft shot.
I think that was just JVG using psychology on tmac. I read here in a thread before that JVG uses positive reinforcement on Tmac, so he never yells at him and praises him for his work. On the other hand, JVG uses negative reinforcement on Yao because he tries harder, so he is always giving Yao tough love. I think that was one of JVG's strengths: he knew how to get through his players (unless that player was a knucklehead lol). Under his watch the team always competed and over achieved. It was just too bad that he didn't know anything about offense. If he got an offensive coordinator alongside thibs we'd probably have a trophy by now...
