Well I would expect more civility from a teacher. Yes, I would expect more civility from a teacher not making much money than a bus driver not making much money. Just to add to that, I never said just people not making much money, I also qualified it with they job they do. I expect you are a teacher because you want to be, I doubt all the bus driver's out there dreamed about being a bus driver when they grew up, and I guarantee, no one wanted to change bed pans at some public nursing home facility for barely a couple of dollars over minimum wage when they grew up.
I agree On the other side of this...anyone who would attempt to lay a finger on my child, I would get them before the cops would.
pgabriel, The only valid point that you've made that I would except is that some people struggling to make ends meet may let the stress effect their behaviour. But I wouldn't be surprised if studies showed that people who are paid less are generally nicer to others because they're not overly competitive and/or caught-up in the rat race. That they may value time with family more than material possessions. etc etc And FWIW, most of the multi-millionaires I've met were the rude, self-centered cusses.
Being rude and letting the stress get to you on your job are two totally different things. I would bet a multi millionaire wouldn't do anything stupid to lose a job a business that provides that money.
