He doesnt always voice his opinion in the best way, but I usually agree w/ what ZRB has to say. While I can see how some find his posts/threads annoying, I don't think they are in any way shameful.

    Wink3,

Real fans don't get caught up spouting the company line ad nauseum.

Real fans live and die with each mistake their team makes.

Real fans suffer with loses, and celebrate with wins.

I would argue that ANYONE who frequents this board would know that EVERYONE here is a REAL FAN.

Just because we express our frustration does not mean that we don't care, or have given up.

Speaking of giving up....hey JEFF why are you whining about people whining, when you just had this thread a week or so ago? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

You need to edit your ignore list to find out what he's saying. But then again, don't bother. :p

That's quite alright. ZRB is the one and only poster on my ignore list, and I don't intend to change it back now. But thanks for the suggestion. ;)

This board rules!! The only thing that sucks about it, is how personalized it becomes.Name calling, GRAMMAR teachers! I will never post YOU'RE AN IDIOT or SHUT UP. I will blast players for their inadequecies if I feel like it. I want them to get better. Look at us , DREAMS gone, we're still supporting our team. I blast players when I see things they do to hurt the team night in and night out. I will say again the person we should be pointing at is my favorite guy.RUDY.THe system has to improve. Injuries?MoT/RICE/WALT? More shots to jack up!It's not all about the injuries. I'm sorry if you think I'm wrong, but I don't think you are an idiot if you disagree. Everyone has some truth to their points. I don't try to be negative.I see negatives in our team.I try to be objective and realistic.RUDY is as sacred to me as DREAM was.Now look!Still supporting the Rockets. This is playground basketball and no player can change that but an inside threat.I just hope when he gets here we pass it to him.I think sometimes as a Houston fan we think that since we are real fans and not FAIR WEATHERED FANS, that we hate it when others negatively critique our team, we take it personal, and scold them for it.ROCKETS RULE! I watch every game win or lose. That's a fan And fan wants his team to get better and is not afraid to say it!

ZRB (and ZRB wannabe's), it's ok to criticize. But too many folks have no manners. I'd bet most folks wouldn't be so harsh if that individual was standing there or if their mother was listening.

Constructive criticizm is one thing. But most folks don't appreciate outright rudeness.

Tack that onto the rhetoric and unsupported opinions, it gets very old very fast.

I don't like to ignore just in case somebody says something valid.

Sure, you can post whatever you want. But you are also allowed to never take a shower. Just because you are allowed doesn't make it a good idea.

To all those siding with ZRB:

How can you guys get so spoiled? The Celtics were great for the decade of the 80s... it took them almost the entire 90s to regain a good competitive team. The Lakers were great for the decade of the 80s... it took them until the late 90s to be contenders again. Those are basketball's most storied franchises. Want more? The Sixers were competitive with Charles Barkley, and awful after he was traded. It took them 4-5 years before they even made the playoffs again. The Bucks last contending teams before these last couple of years had Jack Sikma and Alvin Robertson on them. The Mavs had a great three man nucleus in Jason, Jimmy, and Jamal, but they had to wait another five or more years to make the playoffs. The list can go on.

Most teams, historically, have taken years, years, and sometimes even decades to rebuild past glory. It usually takes a while to totally rebuild and develop talent. It honestly took the Rockets one year. We had one bad year in 2000, a good year last year that would've made the playoffs in any other, and a year this year marred by injuries. If not for injuries to Francis, Rice, and Mo, this team is at least .500 and right in the mix for the playoffs. Some of you are absolutely spoiled... you should be thankful the Rockets aren't in a position where they're doomed for seasons and seasons to come, like almost all teams two to three years removed from glory.

The board, or at least the Rockets forum, really isn't fun anymore. It's sad, but right now it's true. You can't talk about basketball at all without someone going in and blaming it all on a player or a coach. I guess that's the way our society is-- always having to have a scapegoat. Well, there are a few people (and I guarantee I'm not the only one) who would prefer to be able to talk about the Rockets without someone b****ing every two posts. Does this mean making the BBS sunshine heaven? Not at all. You can disagree. Let's talk decisions. Let's talk plays. Look at our strengths as a team. Look at our weaknesses as a team.

The majority of threads now consist of topics primarily saying ___ player sucks at ____, let's trade him. (or something to that effect) Do you really think that we can't figure that out? Steve Francis turns the ball over too often. Cuttino Mobley doesn't pass enough. Mo Taylor doesn't rebound enough. Do any of you realize how tired and old these opinions are? What exactly is accomplished when you repeat yourself thousands and thousands of times? I would hope that most people are at a BBS to share opinions and to better learn about their team. Why don't we talk execution? Why don't we talk about the plays we see run on the floor? Yes, we all see the same game, but multiple perspectives can really help comprehension. What is the point of reading every day about how so and so blew the game, how they suck, how they need to be traded? Do you really think we can't figure out when someone makes mistakes, or what a players' weaknesses are? Right now, win or lose, some player gets bashed after every game. That's not the point of this BBS. The point is to talk basketball-- plays, execution, ideas, strategies, and lately there's been very little.

Cat, thats a good post, but whenever we talk about what happened, it always go back to the same thing. No passing in the clutch, long shots, and no defense. How many times can we kick the **** out of that horse? Its the same thing every loss, time in time out. We can talk about what they can do to improve this, but its the same thing happening all the time.

Earlier this yr I gave the Hawks coach kudos for one of the bset coaching jobs I've seen this yr in a game. Against the Heat and getting the **** kicked out of them, then the coach had a bright idea, he switched to a zone. In a little more than 9minutes, they went from 20 down to winning the ball game. Of course they had to make some shots and force Miami into missing some. What does this relate to?

Teams like the Rockets who have a hard time beating anyone, sometimes the games hang in the balance of strategy or coaching. Last night was a example of that. The Rockets went on a run and took the lead, then Nelson switched defenses. After the Rockets half ass started getting decent shots, he switched again, then he switched again. The game is adjustement based and we didn't make the same adjustments they did which resulted in a loss again. Bradley fouled out and Rudy goes small instead of taking advantage of the hole in the middle.

We can go on and on, but it keeps leading back to the same circle almost every game except in blowout losses. We can see positives in this team as far as getting healthy and getting more minutes together, but we are not executing on offense nor defense plus we're turning the ball over more than the opponet which is not good. Stats can be used to point out these losses by looking at being last in almost every defensive stat and near the bottom in offensive stats also. Put all that together and it equals the record we have. As much as we talk about injuries and youth on this team, but bottom line is we're not a well coached, disciplined team. We're not very good period. Maybe through the year we'll improve on this , but right now we are what we are. We're down there with Denver,Memphis, and G.State.

    Cat, nice post.

Now at least you are pointing to something specific...albeit your not supporting your claims with facts, but at least your pointing to something.

Thats better than...Rudy sucks! Gee thanks for that. Our complaint is most people don't say anything constructive.

Like Rome says, "Have a take and don't suck" Well, too many posts don't "Have a take."

thacabbage started a nice thread after last nights game. It only got 3 replies and a handfull of views. Its a damn shame when threads by nitwits get all the replies and views, but then again, thats what the Game Forum has turned into.

Here is the thread, if anyone has anything intelligent to say:

Are you his dad? My dad used to say the same exact things about me right before he started screaming at me yet again.

Don't worry Mr. Francis, I'm sure young Steve just wants to make you proud.
