The two last games against SAN showo that we can handle them, Griffin made me stand up helling a few times. Once he matures a little more there is no doubt we can be the best in texas, but who cares about that?! It is the Western division what we should be wanting.
The Spurs played this game like a regular season game, Duncan played 33 minutes in this game. The Rockets played the Spurs tough last year and beefed up their frontcourt. Duncan didn't seem to think it was a preseason game, he had like 20 point and 9 rebounds. This definitely showed something. Granted Daniels had a big game, but Mobley had a field day with the Spurs 2-guards, and the Rockets backcourt was generally to fast and explosive for the Spurs. And Willis stats are typical Willis, so I wouldn't blow this game off quite yet. It was still impressive.
Starting line ups. I think they *may* edge us but honestly not by that much but the spurs got a bench full of scrubs [THEY REALLY GONNA MISS AJ . . . COUNT ON IT] Dallas's bench ain't no where near as talented Our Bench will do this: 30~40 pts/game 15 Rbs/ Game 9 asst/ game 2 Steals/ game 2 blocks/game Rocket River
I think we need to focus on the entire Western Conference, not just the Texas teams. Last year, we had a horrible record when facing the "elite" teams in the Western Conference, but we had our way with the entire Eastern Conference. A strong start vs. Western Conference rivals will go a long way towards making this team a playoff contender.
How do you figure that? Dallas has arguable the best bench in the NBA. The only bench that may be stronger is the Kings bench. Here's what Dallas' bench looks like. PG - Hardaway/Derrick Martin SG - Buckner SF - Griffen/Najera PF - Manning/Donnell Harvey C - Eschmeyer/Wolkoweiski/Wang Hardaway is the best back up PG in the NBA. Buckner, and Griffen provide solid defense and rebounding at the guard position. Plus Buck has very good low post game. Manning has slowed down quite a bit but is one of the best "passing" big men in the league not to mention he has 3-point range. Also keep an eye on Donnell Harvey, before all is said, and done he will contend for Most Improved Player.
