The only thing to be careful of as a seller is if your going to sell something (assuming it's over the reserve price), your going to have to pay a fee on it. Depending on how much it goes for your going to pay a certain price, or a percentage of the final price. With that in mind I don't believe people would go through all the trouble to make up new screennames and auctions just to pay money to ebay for extra feedback. I haven't checked on the actual prices to list an auction, and then to pay the fee lately, but I'm sure if your going to list an auction, and the item sells your going to be paying at least $2-$3. If you want 100 feedback that is going to add up. With my long Ebay experience I'd have to say I agree with many other posters, check their feedback and only bid if it's over 100, maybe even 200. If they have a lot of recent negative feedbacks then be very careful there too. Pugs
How is it misleading? The description pretty much tells you it is not an actual Xbox. They even go so far as to refer to it as an "accessory"
There is no line that explicitly states "The system is not included." That is misleading. When selling an item, it is important to be as clear and accurate as possible. That guy is obviously trying to sucker someone into buying an empty box for full console price. I wouldn't fall for it, but someone with poor English might. This is irresponsible on the part of the seller.
All sorts of things are misleading, my friend, that are "obvious" to someone reading carefully. I know a lawyer who puts a nonsense paragraph into the fine print of every real estate contract he writes. He originally just wanted to see if some people would fail to notice. Now he still puts it in to see if anybody will ever notice.
It has been awhile since I have used eBay, but for awhile I was using it pretty regularly. I have only had 1 bad experience and that was with this assclown kid who had some negatives. Learn from experience - if they have less than a 97% feedback rating, don't waste your time with them, especially if they have had at least 1 negative feedback in the last 6 months. One big problem I have found with eBay is that it is so huge that it is hard to get problems resolved because you have to go through so many f*cking channels and they all seem automated.
Maybe I was a little harsh, but if people have over a 1000 feedback and their percentage is slightly below 97% then they are okay. It is that I will always be paranoid about that after my one bad experience.
some people are asses when it comes to feedback: Buyer: (negative) Never sent item Reply: (by seller) How can I when you never sent me the money.
