I bought a phone call from a guy impersonating a dead fish on ebay a while back for around $20. I think it was a steal!

I just bought a funky old promo poster for a Buddy Ace zydeco gig in Opalousas, Louisiana back in 1988. At the bottom of the poster, in big block letters, it says:

    THIS IS A B.Y.O.B. AFFAIR
    NO ICECHESTS PLEASE!

It cost me a whopping nine bucks. It'll look funky cool framed and hanging in the kitchen of my new house!

hehe. Thanks for the $20 bud. [IMG]

I still think that was one of the more hilarious things ever on eBay. [IMG]

    Vengeance: what did you sell?

I'm sort of like Dr. Of Dunk... just vaguely uncomfortable with buying stuff at on-line auctions for some reason.. the lack of a contract scares me, I guess. I know that almost everyone has good luck with it... but I'm afraid of being that one, or something.

Perhaps I'm worried about all the bad karma I've been wracking up [IMG].

I usually buy 50's lamps made from old cactus type wood, with these great old western scenes on the lamp shades. I love nostalgic cactus postcards from the 50's and earlier. I've also sold a few plants (Agaves) and crap I buy thrift shopping for a tiny profit...for a 99 cent burger or something.

I have bought a handful of stuff on Ebay. I have bought 3 rockets posters as well as a bunch of little rockets stuff. The best deal I got was spending $56 bucks on a Dallas Stars Bret Hull jersey brand new which I see in the stores for over $100. My best sale was a Carolina Hurricanes Pin I got at opening night for free and then I sold two of them for over $80 to an NHL pin collector in Europe.

I bought a vintage QUIET RIOT "Metal Health" baseball tee-shirt on there. Cool as hell. It doesn't fit me though, too small. I still plan on wearing it sometime, though.

I sold a computer game called "System Shock". It was really, really amazing when it came out, but it didn't sell well. Now, it's almost impossible to find, and I go around town to used software stores and Half-Price Books to look for them. I've done fairly well with them. Usually, I pay from $3 to $10 per copy, and sell them for $30 to $75.

It was/still is an awesome game, and people want to play it. Who am I to meddle with Supply and Demand?

I had some of those! I did the same thing -- taped them to the top of the monitor. Unfortunately, they fell over, and stuff, and they're scattered throughout boxes now, but they're neat. I think it's the drexler one that doesn't stand up well, but Willis does.

    TheFreak,

Dude, I laughed my arse off after reading that final sentence....

I just got this image of some dude wearing a small T-shirt and I cracked up for some reason. I think it has to do with my memory of when my friend from Greece sent me a T-shirt from Greece with some little scene on the front. I knew it was small, but when I tried it on, I thought I looked like a Greek Male w****.... whew, funny stuff.
