Well, we've heard what we suck at. What are we good at? I know there have been similar threads, but none like this as far as I can remember. Let's all be positive about ourselves!!

    For me:

    1. Public Speaking -- Get me in front of a group of people, and I'll be the greatest speaker you'll ever see. The more people, the better. No matter what the topic -- I never have these speeches written either -- 100% extemporaneous . . . Tell me to talk about ANYTHING, literally ANYTHING and I can do it for as long as is needed, and usually I'll do it very, very well.

    2. Arguing -- I can argue really well too. I'm never wrong either [IMG]

    3. Leadership -- Give me ten monkeys and we'll build a bridge. I can lead a horse to water, make him drink, and then sing and dance. When I have to manage a project, deal with a group of people, etc. we can do amazing things. I've NEVER done badly or failed to reach a goal when leading a group, and I always rise to lead.

    4. Selling -- I don't like doing sales, but I'm really, really good at it. At Oysterbake, our booth had been open an hour and fifteen minutes before I got there. We sold pictures for $5. Only two were purchased. In the next 3 hours, we sold 40 more. I was in front of the booth yelling, talking to people, drawing attention to myself, and I estimate that over 20 of those sales (more like 30, IMO) were directly because of me.

    5. Clutch -- just like the Rockets, when I /have/ to do something, it is done with incredible results. Always on time, always high quality.

Wow, I guess I think highly of myself [IMG]

Well, what are your best skills?

Thread-killing, though I have a feeling this one might be too tough for me.

Music - My only "gift from God." I've had it as long as I can remember. [IMG]
Making Acquaintences - Like my father, I can strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.
Problem Solving - Always been good at deduction.
Running Things - Put me in charge and I can run just about anything.
Lying - Hard to admit this one but it is true. Very hard habit that I am still trying to break. Very sad habit too.
Typing - About 100 WPM last time I tested myself. [IMG]

I shouldn't really say this, but it sort of rhymes with "funny wingless." And she always makes noise.

    That and cooking.

Other than that though.....I'm sort of a jack of all trades, master of none.

I'm kinda embarassed to say it since I actually know some of you, but I'm with Pole, according to my girlfriend.

I'm also with Jeff that I'm a good liar.

I'm also really good at sitting on my ass, playing trivia, and drinking beer.

    I'm a sad, sad individual.

Making up new words to songs that my wife likes, so that when she hears the song all she can think of are the words I sing.

BTW Smeg, I was wondering how long it was going to take before I saw that quote from Achebe in a signature [IMG]

    Things I am awesome at:

1.) Old school videogames like Super Mario Bros., Contra, Mega Man, etc.. I honestly believe I am the best Contra player in the world. Everything nowadays (playstation, etc..) is just too easy.

2.) Figuring out and exploiting an opponent's weaknesses in one-on-one sports. For example, one of my friends is excellent at badminton; a really good player who has won awards and stuff. If we both had to go up against another really good player, he would probably win and I would probably lose. However, when we play each other, I beat him almost 90% of the time because I know his game and can take advantage of him. It pisses him off because he knows he's better, but can't beat me. I'm like that with a lot of sports and games.

3.) Estimating the cost of a restaurant bill.

4.) Reading people and figuring out things. I bet I'd make a good private investigator.

    Oh yeah?

Quick! Write three haiku, one limerick and one short story ( < 30 lines), each involving at least two of the following elements:

    - a blazing egyptian sun
    - an elephant
    - the word <A HREF="http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=anatine">anatine</A>
    - stripes
    - a yo-yo
    - an escaped convict
    - the lesson: "You can't always get what you want"
    - Mr. T
    - dry wit

Unfortunately, I'm with Jeff on the lying thing . . . I can pull off lies that convince EVERYONE, including me . . .

I'm not great at all the old video games, just the original Super Mario Bros. Last winter, I beat it four times in a row in like a 2 hour span. Also Super Mario Bros. 2.
