I've stayed away from all things mac. I think most people buy mac to look like they're 'in' or cool or something. I do not text msg unless it's some sort of emergency. I also stay away from the top of the line tech items like TVs and audio equipment. For example I have a Sharp HDTV, but it's not Aquos, I didn't feel the need to pay that extra price.
I don't remember what happened 2 months ago, much less a thread I started 2 years ago. Really. I don't understand.
I rarely splurge on anything. I'll never spend a lot of money for luxury items(Cars, Jewelry, Clothes). This is a picture of one of our food cabinets my wife took yesterday:
Thread is not prole. Nothing wrong with being thrifty. Cheap and prole are different. While I do pretty much spend a lot of money on everything ima listed, I do save money in other ways: Not eating out during the week. "Forgetting" my wallet when I go out with "friends" on the weekend. Not paying for sex.

For those of you that aren't poor and still cheap...what the hell do you spend your money on??? (waiting for Ronny's response)
I hoard for early retirement/security. I also notoriously blow money when I travel. Basically, I save money to be able to save even more money later on.
Food - If I can cook it at home I will. Ball caps - If it's more than $25 it ain't worth it. Drinks - No matter how "cool" this Club is I'll leave early and just buy a 12 pack for the price of a drink. Car detailing - If It's more than $20 I'll just buy the cleaning stuff and do it myself.
I entered the job market 3 years ago out of college, and I'll admit that while I've been putting money into my 401k and IRA, I haven't been putting away much. I'm with you on the travel spending though.
Not sure this is relevant but I just spent $73.00 on a lunch errand. What did I get for my money, 4 Hanes Undershirts, 6 pairs of dress socks and 3 pairs of athletic socks; I'm feeling robbed.
Clothes and accessories. Except for glasses and sunglasses. I only buy clothes when I run into a sale (see something on FatWallet, shopping with friends, etc). It's not that hard to accumulate a nice closet. Most groceries. I'm fine with Frosted Fakes. Dry pasta, cans of beans, etc...is there really a big difference? I like the bread selection and organic meats at Whole Foods, not much else. Haircuts. I am a man. I get the typical man haircut.
In order of importance: Paying off Debt Savings (so you can live for up to 6 months with no income if you lose your job) Retirement Kids college fund car (the average millionaire buy sa 2yr-old car and pays cash) Pay cash for vacations (instead of charging everything)
Most millionaires in the United States make decent income, but not huge. They get rich by saving. Its still the most effective way to get that way.
With the amount and value of credit card points being shelled out by companies these days, that might not be the smartest idea. As long as you can pay off your credit card bill every month, use it.
I think one of the best things about the advent of the internet besides p*rn is the ability to find things for cheap. I don't remember the last time I had paid full price for anything.
Paying down car loan, paying down mortgage, paying down rent house mortgage, saving down payment for new house......... and an occasional trip to Vegas.... Not necessarily in that order...
