I have no desire to vote for Hillary. Nor, after this administration, do I ever want to see a Bush (so to speak) near the White House again.

If it comes down to Hillary and Jeb, I'd be screwed.

I'm curious. What have they done to earn your trust?

Or, if trust is your default option, what have others done to lose it?

Too true. I had a mild interest for a brief time, based entirely on a fantasy that she would be a surrogate for Bill, who I like a great deal. Pretty silly reason to support someone I don't like, although I don't think she would make a bad President... she just would be beaten like a drum. I've made several posts critical of her, and saying how nuts it would be to have her as the nominee. I've seen and heard nothing from her that would change my opinion.

In a way, I see her as similar to Kerry. His only claim to electability was being a better choice than Bush, which he was, but was incapable of articulating the reasons why. The result? Playing catch-up with a man who should have been hammered at the polls. Truly, it shouldn't have been close. The country was crying out for a change. My party had to work very hard to lose that election. Hell, any number of good Democrats could have defeated Bush in '04, and there are several potential candidates that should be able to win in '08.

The country is still crying out for change, but now the noise is deafening. The GOP will lose at least one branch of Congress this November. They will hang on by the skin of their teeth to one of the two, in my opinion. If Democrats can find someone that can make a good speech, has at least a bit of charisma, articulates the issues important for the nation, and why the Democratic Party can address them in an effective way that will bring about positive change, it should be a walk.

We are at one of those moments in American political history when the country wants, more than anyting else, a great change in their political leadership, and are completely fed up with the party in power. The country has made sea-changes before at times like these. We are going to witness that sea-change beginning this Fall, and continuing in '08 and beyond. It requires one thing above all else... new leadership. Hillary Rodham Clinton is not that. She is married to Bill, and that is not enough.

Only a fool would trust Rudy Guliani to be President of the US. All you have to do is take a look at Rudy's pre-9/11 New York City to get scared straight.

    Thank you!

People outside of New York have no idea how much Rudy was a dick before 911.

No doubt. The only reason I know about it is because I have so many friends and relatives who live in NYC. They fall all over the political spectrum, Demos and Repubs, Libs and Conservos.....and they all hated Rudy Guliani as mayor of NYC prior to 9-11-01.
