Ditto that. We went last night for the first and last time. That place is the definition of teh suck.
I'd meet you guys for tonight's game. Say where. I'll make sure to check the thread around 6 and a little after. Tip off's 7:30 I think.
Figure tonight's game isn't going to happen. It's just as well. The weather's lousy. PM me or post here if you want to catch another one.
My flight just landed and I've still gotta get my rental car and check in to the hotel, so I think you're right - it ain't happenin' tonight. Lemme get to my hotel and I'll post again. We'll come up with a plan.
So I got to my hotel. I head out for dinner at 8:45. I ask the chick behind the front counter if there's a sports bar nearby where I can also get a burger. She sends me to a mom & pop, hole in the wall place called DJ's Sports Bar and Grill. But, get this... I walk in. there's only one other person in the place. I ask if they can put the Rockets game on one of the screens. The guy says, "Umm.. what channel is it on?".. I say, "I dunno, man. I just got in from Houston. I'm sure it's on an NBATV channel." He frowns and says, "oh.. hmm.. we don't have NBATV." heh... What kind of a sports bar doesn't have NBATV?!?!? I was tempted to go outside and tear down the "sports" part of his "sports bar" sign. I ate a burger and left.
Man, just ditch the convention/conference thing and go see a taping of Jerry Springer. If you go see a taping of OPRAH, turn in your MAN card... BTW: are you posting from your laptop, or your PALM?
I was posting from my blackberry. and... For cryin' out loud - People have NBATV in their homes!!!! I can't imagine that a "sports bar" wouldn't be able to broadcast NBA games. What a joke.
It's not on every cable system. Hell, I've walked into a big bar in Houston, on a Sunday afternoon, with the Rockets on national television against the Heat, and not one single television was on the game. I didn't even bother. You should've at least hit a BW3.
Okay folks. I can officially state that Batman Jones is a really cool guy. Watched the game. Ate some food. Played some pool.... And as the wide screen TV had the Rockets highlights on, a lesbian couple started making out. Agh! What to watch? Rockets putting the smack down on Wolves! Lesbians kissing! Rockets! Lesbians! I was about to ask the girls to please sit in front of the TV and make out so that we could watch both at the same time, but the highlight clips ended. Issue resolved. ... good times...
oh..... my..... God...... Stayed up last night til about 4 am (after staying up til 3 am the previous night). I'm beat.
Sorry to bring up an old thread...I didn't want to start another one. I'm in Chicago for the next 9 weeks interning and my office is a block away from the Wacker Street Morton's mentioned earlier in this thread. I checked out their website, and it seems to be the only Morton's location open for lunch. Droxford, did you ever get a chance to try this place for lunch? What are the prices like for lunch?
