I am not a homophobe, but who wants to go 'Au Natural' where there are only dudes? A long long time ago when the world was young we used to go to Paleface Park, where the Perdenales flows into the Lake Travis. There was a cove about half way into the park where co-ed skinny was common place. You'd camp out on the hill 100 yards to the south and set up your day camp on the rim of the cove to swim and sunbathe. The days I was there the mix was little more to the femine side. I am not a female homophobe either.

Anybody know if that still goes on? Not that I would trot my old fat ass out there anymore .

Cliff jumping at Pale Face is awesome. Going out there was one of the first events I experienced in Austin and I kept going the entire time I lived there. Not a bad idea if it's not too late ILoveClutchCity.

I always love the zilker botanical gardens, barton springs, and town lake. you can always have a nice day in the sun, provided the weather is good.

There's always the gazillions of museums around here and call me biased (because I'm one of them), but UT is a great campus to just walk around and see interesting stuff. Its amazing how they fit 50,000+ students in a downtown setting. UT holds a midnight prowl and tower tours that are good too, I dunno how much the cost, but if you're willing to dig around the website its www.utexas.edu/visitors/

But as far as restaraunts go, there's plenty of local flavor here - all sorts of places. If you like taking risks, just drive somewhere random and pick a place to eat. Or if it's really late, somewhere that is open is a good idea.... Speaking of late, has anyone ever done drunken bowling at 3am at showplace lanes (?) - that bowling alley at I35 and Rundhberg? That's gotta be a trip. I should try that sometime
