I will be visiting Austin this weekend. I haven't been out there in like 8 years. Been in & out of Tx (Reason why)

I've been hearing about going to the Oasis (Lake Travis).

I will probably be closer to the Downtown area. I want to check out a few of the best bars / restaurants . Hookah spots? Strip Clubs? etc. Wherever the fun is at.... AUSTIN PPL HELP ME.

    Thanks. :)

With a name like BossHogg, go eat BBQ until you're in a meat coma. Then eat dessert.

dude the lake is dry, like 46 feet below normal. avoid lake travis.

if you are downtown there's plenty of places to eat:
    la condesa
    lamberts
    roaring fork
    z-tejas

    south lamar:
    uchi
    ramen tatsuya

    go south congress:
    south congress cafe

bbq (if you don't want to wait in line at franklin or la bbq)
    freedmen's bar (UT west campus)
    terry black's bbq

    east austin:
    qui
    eastside cafe
    bufalina

    BAR SCENE:
    Rainey Street
    W Hotel
    Dogwood

Best burger in Texas is at Hopdoddy's. Expect a very very long line. Salt lick and Franklins are top BBQ joints in America too.

Go hiking on the 360 bridge - great view up there and easy to get to. Go to town lake and chill on the new boardwalk. Drive in Westlake and Redbud drive for good scenic views. Hula hut has a good lake view for a restaurant - Thai fajitas are good there with the plum sauce. Good bars on 6th street if you are under 30 are Maggie Maes, Blind Pig, and The Ranch.

Of course, I'd be the first one to mention which gentlemen's club to go to...

    Yellow Rose seemed pretty good.

Beck's Prime burgers are much better than Hopdoddy's imo. Hopdoddy's is good, but Beck's Prime is another level above. Anyhow...it's unimportant since there isn't one in Austin. :(

I was at the Rose and Palazio this past weekend for a bachelor party weekend. The Yellow Rose was excellent.

For bars check out the east 6th street bars like Violet Crown Social Club, Hotel Vegas, or White Horse. It's hipster over there.

West 6th is more douche bag type atmosphere, but a good time.

Dirty 6th is more college age/under 25 crowd.

The W Hotel bar is also a good spot to check out for something more upscale/LA style scene.

Don't expect good food at the Oasis - only go for the view.

Micklethwait Craft Meats for BBQ - get the brisket, sausage, and jalapeno cheese grits.
