I totally have that problem too. For some reason, I couldn't ever pull myself up. I just stayed there and let the water smack me in the face until I'd just give up and fall off. I cannot rollerskate for the life of me. I have played soccer at a very competitve level for a very long time. You'd think I have pretty good foot control. But, for some reason, I can't make my feet do whatever it is you do when you skate. I haven't tried in about 18 years. The last time I tried, I broke my wrist falling backward. I've never bothered trying rollerblading or ice skating. I figured if I can't do it on 4 wheels...
I can't swim freestyle. I do breaststroke very well, have little problem with backstroke, and can even manage half a dozen strokes of butterfly. But for some freakin' unknown reason, I've never been able to learn the technique of inhaling/exhaling sideway. For many years I didn't know how to hit single-handed backhand topspin in tennis. One day a tennis buddy of mine told me to turn my grip slightly to semi-eastern if I was about to do backhand topspin, then all of sudden everything fell into place and I felt like I was hitting like a pro. Before that I had studied lots of tapes and practiced many hours on my own, but to little avail.
I can snap my left hand, but my I can't snap as a righty very well at all. I also never knew how to blow my nose until I was like 12 or so.
i couldnt swallow pills for the longest time. i had to cut them up in to pieces and put them in apple juice.
I can't roller skate, ice skate, or skateboard. Pretty much anything that involves my feet moving beneath me (other than walking) ends up with me flat on my a$$. Oh, and for some reason, I've NEVER been able to do a simple back float in a pool. My 6-year-old neice can float all day, but I sink to the bottom every time.
I can neither blow bubbles with bubble gum, nor get any friends-with-benefits. Could my two failings be related? But I can whistle, dammit!! Some people are just more dense than others
Well, my wife's called me thick-skulled and air-headed. But since I sink when I try to float on my back too, I guess I'm more of the former.
I've never seen those 3D pictures that you have to "see into". I've spent hours trying, but I've never even come close.
Go to the FAQ section, and look under Ratio Rules. They have a pretty good step by step guide to upload files using Utorrent and some other clients.
I'm a non-floater and very poor freestyle swimmer as well. I think the two are connected - I really struggle to get my head out of the water to breathe and my legs sink to a poor angle for kicking as well. I do fine if I use a mask and snorkel though. When I was 5 they put us in a swimming class and asked us to do a star float. I did mine perfectly - 2 feet under the surface of the water. In the ocean I'm actually neutrally buoyant, which is kind of nice. All this is at about 40 pounds over my ideal weight! If I didn't have the fat, it would be like: pool, meet rock.
Are you talking about when people use their fingers to twist their tongue or hold their lips a certain way? Between ONE HAND's index and thumb, hold the area of your chin just below your lower lip and inhale. Start to pull the skin away from you slightly, while attempting to bring your sides of the mouth together (like whenpeople do the "fishy" look) and pulling your skin away slowly. Find the position at which, while inhaling, you can whistle loudly. You can inhale fast or slow, pull away or towards you. Find the position and speed combination at which you can whistle "loudly."
Drive a stick shift. I've never had one, and I took one very brief lesson from my parents when I was in high school and I was just god awful at it (I know most people are at first). I never took another and it has never really been an issue.
