That's why we're closing in what was to be the formal dining room for my wife. She uses it as an office but the kids and dogs are constantly distracting her. So we're closing the entrance to the kitchen and putting french doors up on the main entrance so she can shut them all out. It's worth the expense to me so she's not getting pissed at everyone every day.
I actually have an office with a door, but...how can I put this.....sometimes people who have never worked from home just assume it means you do nothing all day and have all the time in the world for other things like helping with chores, running errands, etc.
Totally. When I did on a more frequent basis and with my ex-wife who was a teacher, she would always assume I had time to entertain her and the kids. I put doors up but it did nothing. At least the kids are older now and rarely come out of their rooms anyway. It's more about the dogs who go nuts at the slightest chance someone might be within 100 miles of our house.
When something is packaged as Pita Bread and it is nearly impossible to open up even with a sharp knife, without ripping chunks off. My usual brand that opens up easily was out, so I picked up this stuff. I'll never buy this crap again.
A new study by Western University in Ontario says that if you've got a car with a modified exhaust system, odds are you're a guy and probably also psychotic and sadistic. Slapping a Cherry Bomb glasspack on your Monte Carlo doesn't (necessarily) mean you're a Ted Bundy–level psycho, but the data points to a personality that enjoys inflicting unpleasantness on others. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60983144/study-loud-exhaust-psychotic/
Interesting: Somewhat surprisingly, the straight-pipe crowd didn't score high on narcissism, indicating that the appreciation of stridently broadcast internal combustion isn't motivated by, "Hey, look at me!" It's more like, "Hey, listen to my Nissan VQ, whether you like it or not."
I'm sick of seeing about how Chipotle makes their guacamole fresh daily. Do you want a freaking medal? Same day guacamole is expected. If you can't make the guacamole fresh daily, then you shouldn't be in the Mexican food business! Yea...I'll take some of that day old guacamole from yesterday you damn sons of... .
Shopping retail, period. Driving there and navigating the masses of barely legal drivers. Finding a parking spot among the 'reserved for everyone but you' parking signs. Walking in on a hot ****ing day and getting stuck at the entrance behind inconsiderate, clueless people. Navigating aisles with inconsiderate, clueless people blocking the whole thing while they try to figure out what they want, even though they knew they were going. Screaming children. Smelly people. Apathetic employees that are never around to tell you where X product is....which ends up being in an area that is completely incongruous. Standing in line while two inconsiderate, clueless people in front of you try to figure things out, over and over again. Or one inconsiderate, clueless person has to figure out the self-checkout again, for the 1000th week in a row. Regular retail needs to sell me to get me there or I'm just going only if I'm in a bind time-wise or somehow online stores just don't cut it. Give me some t*tties like Hooters or Twin Peaks. Hand out some freebies. Premium parking, which I would pay for. How about a car wash while I'm there? The only place that comes even close is Sam's with their samples (if I'm so inclined) and checkout app, which allows me to skip a good chunk of the people.
Infotainment/audio system on my 7 month old truck stopped working suddenly. Started with the radio not having any sound. Then CarPlay kept disconnecting/reconnecting and annoyingly forcing my phone to play the music. Couldn’t connect for more than 2-3 seconds but also wouldn’t stop trying to connect to the phone. So just had to turn down volume all the way and drive in silence. Then, today, it started connecting permanently but I couldn’t control volume OR turn off the volume. It was just stuck at a medium volume. And still no sound from any radio stations. Did a reset to factory settings and it fixed it but still…those 3 trips were aggravating.
Massive problems with their new V6 engines. 100K+ vehicles. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60992514/toyota-tundra-lexus-lx-engine-recall/
Jokes aside, that’s quite shocking for Toyota. Their entire manufacturing philosophy revolves around Kaizen (continuous improvement) and a huge part of that is QA/QC. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaizen
Vendors that either refuse to take credit cards or pass the fees directly on to the customer in the form of an upcharge while b****ing about it. I don’t care. I’m not here to commiserate. Keep your negativity to your wife and your bartender. I want what I’m paying for and a pleasant transaction. Work the fees into the price of your product like any other business that has increased expenses. Or eat the cost. I’d rather make a percentage of a profit than no profit. Figure it out.
If you can't afford an extra 3.25% at that place, you just shouldn't be shopping there. I have no qualms about local businesses charging that back to me for using a card.
I gave my Camry 2014 to my dad who had been driving a 2005 Saab. He’s acting like he’s in the most luxurious car he’s ever had haha. I have zero complaints for my Toyota. It really was a great car and especially considering it was only like 27-29k.
