Burger King is a mystery. As a kid it was the best of the fast food places. In the last five years I've been to BK, maybe twice, at two different locations, and it was legitimately some of the worst food I've ever had. Additionally, in their commercials the weird **** they've concocted for their menu and the king mascot look like the stuff of nightmares.
Both cnn and fox have that annoying banner that doesn’t disappear for like 20 seconds and blocks the first part of the article. Then it shrinks to the top banner. I’ve tried to complain abt how stupid it is and how it has literally stopped me from reading their articles out of annoyance but finding a general contact email for CNN or fox is impossible. I also hate that cnn, more so than fox, puts so much in video format and doesn’t have articles included. I can’t “watch” the news at work. I need to read it.
Traditionally? Meat and potatoes. If you want to get crazy, you can have fried fish and potatoes. Roast (beef, lamb, pork), with veggies; bangers (sausage) and mash (mashed potatoes); pot pies; shepherd's pie; burgers; steak sammich (think french dip); now most places have a curry once a week or more...things are of course regional. If it's done right, it's good. eta: these are more fancified traditional dishes, but you'll get the idea: https://www.delicious.com.au/recipe...-classic-recipes-to-keep-dinner-easy/g9uow0m1
It's awful. Only compliment I can say about it is that it makes the intersection in Marble Falls smell really good whenever they're venting out the grilling smoke and such.
I'm convinced that TexMex, attuned to the local palate, would be a hit anywhere on earth. Except maybe Scandinavia, those guys are just weird.
Absolute trash these days, Jack in the box is in the same boat................I cant even get down with the 99 cent tacos I used to main line back in high school.
In Singapore and Hong Kong they use Brit spelling like “centre” and “defence”. When speaking English though they don’t always use British pronunciations like aluminium as “Al-U-min-e-um”.
Meat pies can be pretty good but often the end up too doughy. What we call fries they call “chips” and those are often big flat potatoe planks that are often soggy. What we call chips they call “crisps” and true to the name They are often the only things actually crisp in a British, or Irish, pub. Other than crisps and rock hard cookies , what they call “biscuits” the British isles seems to have an aversion towards crunchy food.
Do they add an "r" sound at the end of names and things that end in a like saying Amandar for Amanda? That's annoying.
American car culture. People who finance cars they can't afford (or trucks in Texas) so they can look good at a red light even though they're drowning in debt, can't survive a $5,000 emergency without going into more debt and can't afford to save for retirement or their kids college. Hope you like your truck, Bubba - it's ruining your life. Along the same lines, people who would rather pretend to be rich than work hard and sacrifice to become rich. "Stuff" isn't as important as your family's future. Are you living for today or living for 10 years from today? I drive my 10 year old paid for Hyundai to drop off and pick up my kids every day and I'm surrounded by brand new Suburbans and Escalades. But I'll bet I have more money in the bank than any of those fools.
=] They were good when they used to legitimately flame broil their burger patties. You could actually see the broiler with fire in the back, and the chimney that let out the smoke on top of each location. Now they are "pre-broiled" and just have a flame broiled "taste."
