No. That's definitely was not the case. I remember specifically that year is when he was paying attention to his diet and was following CP3's advice during the off-season when he went to the Rockets and I specifically remember praising him at the beginning of the season for coming in lean. You definitely are remembering things wrong or are merely making assumptions and hoping you were right.
One hesitation I have about declaring our defense to be an unfixable disaster is that, anecdotally, it sure seems like teams are scoring more points this year. I wonder if offenses in the NBA in general are just superior to defenses now (mainly due to most teams embracing Moreyball). I haven't looked at any stats and don't want to, as it's too early for me to feel good about declaring any trends. But damn, when I watch these two games, I am regularly noticing our terrible defense.
our defense was virtually invisible, we barely squeezed by the Pelicans, when they are playing on a second night of Back to Back without Zion and J Holiday, if we continue to play like this for the next 8 games, by game 10, our season will be wasted and washed
I thought in 2018 he was all around better. He was more active on defense and played within the offense better. CP3 being healthy definitely helped a lot.
Harden shooting way too many 3's EG is a chucker and continues to be inconsistent. Small ball lineups. Keep Capela & Chandler on the floor!
2nd game only and harden was actually shooting more threes last year but no one complained because he was making them and btw his game is threes and even more layups avged 24 drives in 2 games. more than last year
How about the fact that Christian Wood just gave the Pistons an important 19 and 12 with 3 of 3 from deep. DM was too busy scooping up more guards and Anthony Bennett lol.
