Feeding off of Meowgi: 1. I still dig beautiful girls 2. Exactly my sentiments on rap music...exactly! It all died in the mid-90's. 3. Can't follow ya there. I'm only rooting for the home team...but I'll watch other teams...particularly in football and baseball. i have a hard time watching an NBA game without a rooting interest. 4. Of course war sucks 5. Hummers -- brutha, I'm sooooo with you. how worthless are these things? seriously, if you're paying that much money for a freaking car...an asset that depreciates the moment you take possession...you have issues. a freaking military vehicle now patrolling the suburbs. what a joke.
I do too, don't get me wrong. I just can't get into the girl of the day type thing. I don't know names of models, actresses and stuff.
Excellent thread idea Fear Factor - watching people eat and sleep with bugs is just not appealing. Baseball - I was rooting for the strike. couldnt have said it better myself. Pickup Trucks - unless you use it to haul things as part of a business, what a huge freakin' waste of space. Non Sports Video Games - Its hard for me to fathom this multi-billion dollar industry...i mean, its not like its p*rn.
Hockey Eastern Conference Basketball (I haven't watched a single playoff game) Hard liquor The Man Show The Strokes Friends (the show) Fantasy sports You guys don't like Hummers?!?!? I love Hummers! Oh, wait a minute....you mean the cars. Nevermind.
I'm with you on that one. There are so many good looking women in the world that I've never understood the "girl of the day" phenomenon either.
i understand what you mean here, i wanted nothing to do with anime until about a year and a half ago....when i saw Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal. It...in my opinion, is the best all around anime series around. Its separated in episodes, but its more movie than series. Its an OVA Prelude to the Series Rurouni Kenshin: Wandering Samurai. A series which depicts kenshin, trying to protect the ones he love, with a sword in a time of change. and not killing those who threaten him as an act for attoning for his past sins. The Samurai X series gives us some insight as to what that is. It is set durring the Meiji revolution, and kenshin is a boy assasin. a killer that feels no remorse. a woman opens up his heart, but who has secrets. a betrayal and kenshins most wicked murder, the revlotion won and kenshin is the legendary murderer, and a man who throws away the death sword and lives his life for the people hes slain. quite possibly the best fight scenes in a anime film, awesome soundtrack, tapestry of japanese history, a great love story. -------if you like this, then go on to the anime series Rurouni Kenshin. Again, this is his time of attonement, and his character is portrayed in a much more lighthearted way. Watch the first 2 archs. great great stuff. for your D&D tastes. If you havent already seen berserk....i think you might like it. The lead character Guts is a mix between Conan and Ash. Good fight scenes, a splash of political treachery, good vs evil, and more than its share of blood. The outtakes alone are worth watching the dvds. If you like this series, i suggest you read the manga (comics) as they give so much more insight to the complicated story.
Thanks, but there's no need. I've listened to 2 different White Stripes albums (including the "awesome" album Elephant), and I STILL think they suck.
College Sports - there are these things called pro sports that collect all of the best players from college and put them on super teams. To me, college sports is like watching Orlando play the Suns, or the Arizona Cardinals against the NYG, except even those crappy teams would still kick a college team's ass. Oh, and why do the rules need to be different from their pro counterparts? Is there some logical reason that college basketball is two 20 minute halves instead of four 12 minute quarters? Golf - Mind numbingly boring to play, worse to watch on TV, even worse than that to watch live. Who decided this needs hours of coverage every day on ESPN. The Beatles - blah blah blah influence. I don't like listening to their music. Period. End of story. Soccer - at least in golf there is a certainty that the golfer will eventually get the ball in the hole. I don't want to watch any sport where you go into a game with a resonable expectation that one of the teams at least will be shut out. If you see a shutout in baseball, football, or even hockey, it is something kind of special, in soccer it is an average game. 3 goals is an offensive explosion.
quesadillas - I love tex/mex food, but dont find the appeal for this over fajitas, tacos or burritos.
Ahem. DCFC's The Photo Album has a load of great songs, with great hooks. Forget Transatlanticism. And if you're really looking for some "hip" stuff to get stuck in your head, get some New Pornographers, Shins, Super Furry Animals, and Unicorns.
Beatles and Elvis Faith Hill and Shania Twain - these two imbeciles have singlehandedly ruined country music. Hill is worse for taking what once was a talented singer (Tim McGraw), and sculpting him in her own demonic image. Damn SUCCCUBUS!!!!! Anything throwback, retro or oldschool - God I don't know what it's like back in Houston but up here everyone is wearing these godawful ugly as sin throwback jerseys of teams they nothing about just because it's popular. Driving down Broad street you have no idea where you are because every team jersey in every league is being represented!!!!! Matching outfits on men - Aw god this is the worse. I work with a guy who must own thirty pairs of shoes. Each pair with a matching shirt and pants. I'm not talking suits and slacks but baggy pants and nikes, timberlands, etc. I see this everywhere now. People!!! Women do this not men!!!! Sneakers worn as designer wear - Sneakers were made to play sports in not as a fashion statement! God I'm so tired of people whining that they got mud on their damn air force ones! Timberlands - the biggest farce in footwear, they're supposedly rugged designed to climb trails. Yeah right, they're fashion boots that you can even get in blue to match your powder blue pants, throwback Earl Campbell jersey, and retro Oilers hat even though you've never seen the Oilers play. Thank you I feel much better
Cool. Advice is good. I'll give those bands a shot. For the record, I listened to DCfC's Transatlanticism and We've Got the Facts and We're Voting Yes. Didn't care much for either album (although Transatlanticism was the better of the two...).
Liv Tyler. No kidding: They put her in the same movie(s) with Cate Blanchett, and I'm supposed to find Liv Tyler's face incredibly appealing? I mean her no offense, and maybe she's a talented actress, but I just don't get her label as a hottie. Whatever. Sorry, Liv. When I am drooled over by women all over the world, you can insult me all you like. Deal? And this is coming from a guy who really prefers brunettes.
We've Got The Facts is probably my least favorite DCFC album even though I like them all. Like rudager says, Photo Album is probably their best IMO. But I have to disagree with you guys on Transatlanticism. I really like that record. B-Bob- Liv was a babe 5 or six years ago. Then she chopped off her beautiful black hair and put on about 50 pounds. Now she's a dog. Too bad really.
Hockey -- I'm a patriotic Canadian and a huge sports nut, and yet I do not like hockey. In fact, I find it pretty much unwatchable.
