The wristwatch thing is a complete joke. Yes, everybody's going to have a cellphone, but to date nobody has made a cellphone that is more ergonomical for checking the time than a simple turn of the wrist. On the contrary, it is far more likely that wristwatches become more complex technologically and begin to do more than just tell the time -- carry important personal biodata, serve as a secure payment mechanism, show reminders, serve as a simple remote display portal for your smartphone. Oh, and play music.

I don't see why the lens cost changes at all. The media the image is recorded on should not change the expense of the lens.

One phrase always springs to mind whenever I think of e-books:

You don't need to charge a book to read it.

Coming from a nursing major, watches aren't going out anytime soon. Too useful for vital signs and no one's going to dig for their phones when they're touching the patients.

Personally, I think many of this is too soon just because certain stuff is just not feasable with current tech and current standards. For instance, a wired phone is still useful because it doesn't require electricity and won't get bogged down in case of emergencies (see Hurricane Ike). Reason my family

And there's not that nasty strain on your eyes/neck from staring at the screen too long.

I think if it gets to the point where only nurses are using watches, then they're pretty much a thing of the past.

E-readers like the Nook or Kindle don't cause strain on the eyes or neck. They're not back lit, and you can hold them in any position you would hold a book.

I think it's already happening, which is basically a mobile computer. At first you had just phone capability, then there's playing music, use as a notebook, watching video, and finally connect internet.

So in the end, we'll probably be able to do anything and everything no matter where we go.

The new Nook Color is not an e-Ink screen, and I would think, will cause all the glare, eye-strain and headaches of staring at an LCD screen...because it IS an LCD screen. Huge fail for Barnes and Noble, and should tip the scale in favor of the Kindle when it comes to those looking to buy a true reader and not some underpowered tablet hybrid. /thread derail.

I haven't worn a wristwatch in many years, but I have now ordered the Withings Activité - precisely because it doesn't look like the apple watch, but like a nice, "classic" wristwatch (that happens to also track steps). Ordered it in black, although I liked the other one as well. It reminds me of a watch that I had as a child.

I still prefer them for shopping, especially clothing, because the photos are nicer.

I'm guessing there was less ADD before 2011.

    More polar bears too.

How to write a cogent paragraph or spell relatively simple words....

    Thinking, thinking....

Oh, yeah. Music that doesn't suck. Please add that to the list.

Granted, they will seldom be aware of the fact, unless someone locks them in a cell and force-feeds them a diet of Rolling Stones, Aretha, The Beatles and so on. But they'd probably just die as if tortured instead.
