Hmm maybe Charles is ZBR? He secretly wants the rockets to win! Have anyone ever seen ZBR and Charles at the same time?:D

Freak - I never heard of Rudy asking them if they wanted KJ. I agree our defense was a weakness, but having a true floor general like Kevin Johnson would have saved Game 6, when we watched Matt Maloney and Sedale Threatt allow the team to squander away a 13 pt 4th quarter lead. KJ was no great defender but he would have atleast kept some composure. I'll concede that Malone owned Barkley, but we wouldn't have gotten there without Charles.

As far as '98, I remember that series like it was yesterday. Charles was the heart and soul of that team. Up 15, Game 4, up in the series 2-1, with a chance to close the freaking series out and knock off the #1 seed. We had that game until Antoine Carr elbowed Charles in the 2nd quarter. He tried to come back later in the game but it was all for naught. It was all downhill from then. Then of course we know what happened in Game 5 as we really had no chance and simply got owned without Chuck. Clyde didn't seem to care too much after the game though...

On another note: Stockton's shot in '97 really nailed the door shut on the Houston Rockets for the good part of a decade. Until now.

    You are WRONG!

Many DO take us seriously and praise us on cosistent basis. For example: have you ever heard Greg Anthony and Tim Legler (The NBA Fastbreak boys) talk about the Rockets? They love the Rockets and ALWAYS say that they would be a possible surprise team in the playoffs and that no one wants to face them. In fact, Anthony has said multiple times that if the Rockets finish this season strong, T-Mac has to have serious MVP considerations.

So it is NOT true the Rockets get no love, it is just the bitter ol' Chuskta. It is the rings we held him from getting when we win the championships here in Houston. He choked a couple of times, and never delivered his team(s) to the title. He had PLENTY of chacnes, but never could get over the hump: that is the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls. He can't hate the Bulls because it is Jordan country, he would kick Charles' ass if he talked bad about them:) , but he can hate on the Rockets because he doesn't have Olajuwon flashing his two rings in his face. Hakeem disliked the guy, and so do I: that is good enough for me.

But it is Ok, he can talk all he want, I never take his opinions seriously, because really, almost everything he says seems to become wrong. So if I were you guys, I would be ecstatic he dissed the Rockets, because with Charles' track record it means we will win it all!:D

In the deciding game 6, Barkley scored 20, Malone scored 24, and Ostertag matched Olajuwon's 16. The big problem was that they had a top 3 PG of all time and we had Matt "on the Rox payroll permanently" Maloney (0-6 from downtown for zero points).

I agree with part of Barkley's statement...........we are soft. The problem is we are not nearly as soft as the Suns, Seattle, Dallas, Sacremento, or Memphis. As a matter of fact, the West is full of soft teams besides the Spurs. Furthermore, out of the aforementioned softies in the West we are the "least soft team".........not saying that's neccessarily a compliment either........the West is full of soft teams. How are we eliminated for being soft, but softer teams are still in the mix.

CB is off based as usual on this one. Remember guys, this is the same host who dogged the Pistons last year as pretenders becuase they couldn't score enough points...lol.

Ya know I have always loved the Chuckster, even when he was showing his butt crack, but he is gonna be licking boots pretty soon if he doesn't watch it. Yao, who I have slammed for girlie- man play , showed last night that He can be not just a factor, but a dominator. Didn't think the young stud would get there this year, ......I;d love to be SO WRONG on that ! Watch out NBA...and that article in MSNBC ? That's a disgrace....like some piece of cra& from a personal web site or something...

Now, i'm waiting for Charles Fatly to say:
"the Rockets never win a champion ship again"
    "Tmax is not a MVP"
"Yao is not a 24-11 guy"

Yeah, sometimes i wonder if Yao's teammates bring in news clips and/or tell Yao what Chuck said. Or maybe Yao is watching TNT nowdays?

    Classic locker room material!

When did Cassell go to the finals again? The Bucks sure as hell didn't make it, The Wolves have never been there, and Kidd led the Nets when they got there.

Perhaps you were saying he went to a game or watched it on TV.

Thought Cassell was with Kidd's Nets when they went, but I could be wrong about that. If so, thanks for the correction.

I also appreciate some of the other comments about the trade from Cabbage. I knew they were going balls-to-the-wall for a championship that year, but my thought back then was, "who's on the bench?? Who's going to spell these old guys when they get tired???"

Sam was in the deal that sent Marbury to NJ. And since Marbury was traded for Kidd, then Sam was not on their Final's teams.
