Hahaha... a newspaper... Spoiler Thank you for this thread. I am surprised at how many U.S. born peeps can't write their own language. EddieWasSnubbed, I don't correct people via REP or give them REP for bad grammar. I call them out on the same thread... How could I have missed this thread? I can has failz. LOL! Now, that's bad. My point about people who use the "this is a sports forum, man, not class!" argument is that if they write it that way (incorrectly) here, they more than likely will make the same mistake when they DO write it for a class. That is all.
More rep: "Capitalize that S. And putting "who is" before the word correcting would make your sentence more correct." Another imposter? Hmm..
I got an email from NVIDIA today. The email subject.. "Darkspore Beta Event - You're Beta Key is Here" The destruction continues.....
You know what really grinds my gears? People typing "of" instead of "have" (e.g., "could of", "should of"). Seriously, if you actually think about it for a half second it makes no sense.
They're probably just spelling it out like they were taught; spelling it the way it sounds when they sound it out
Why did you put this period in the parentheses: "I don't need luck. It just gets in my way." - Kick Buttowski And here, you put the period on the outside of them: A lot of folks on this board and others cannot tell the difference between "their" and "they're", "you're" and "your". By the way people who criticize others for your/you're, which is a idiosyncratic at best, fail to see the irony involved in their (is that right?) own posts. I was an English major in college and took classes in the most advanced linguistic courses, I chose them rather than the more pragmatic practical grammar course which promotes these "rules" you cling to so much, without any explanation as to why. I can also tell you that many of the English teachers who took the less rigorous versions of the course in English grammar were very average students in the overall understanding of what grammar is and how it works. They just wanted to learn the rules and go about their business. Is it any wonder that they, these teachers I mean, produce rule adheres such as yourself, you figure out one commonly misspelled word and use that as a basis to question another person's intelligence. Let me give you a quiz grammarian. He took over the game. What part of speech is "over" in the sentence above. Fatty you are welcome in on this one, too.
The "lose" and "loose" one always gets me going. I just don't understand how so many people think that "loose" is the word to use in describing a team that did not win.
they're their now.. there grammatical mistakes are always going to get the best of you. just be glad their they're and not here!!!
What the **** happened to the question mark??! Jesus Christ, I hope you don't have a job related to you're major.
