I think its satire. The name of the Newspaper is Arkansas Democrat (typically coined as liberals) Gazette.
In case you're not joking, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette is the name of the Little Rock newspaper. It's equivalent to the Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, Chicago Tribune, L.A. Times, etc.
Let's not paint with such broad strokes. It seems like we feel comfortable generalizing about certain groups while we'd never even THINK about doing it if we were talking about another group. I'm sure some of the kindest, warmest people we'd ever want to meet are found in southern, rural areas -- just as there are in urban, inner-city areas. And I find it somewhat disingenuous when we feel like we're a little more "enlightened" than many narrow-minded, myopic bigots, yet we mimic the very behavior we would go out of our way to condemn.
My wife is from Little Rock. I can't wait to share this little gem with her! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH RM95 FOR POSTING THIS!!!
I lived there for 10 years. Not bad at all for a short vacation. Several tourist attractions: amusment park/water park, lake, hiking trails, historic bath houses, to name a few. Very scenic area with numerous hotels to choose from. I think the article in the paper was written in jest.
We used to go there when I was a kid. One of my "Uncles" had 10-15 cabins for rent on Lake Hamilton and the family would gather there from time-to-time. Me and Little Billy Clinton... Will going off DST reverse the "chilling" effects of this conspiracy?
Yes I have, when I was a teenager, with my family. Nice downtown area and beautiful crystal clear lakes. Great fishing too.
I go at least once a year to Oaklawn for the horse races. The racing season has ended for this year, but it's still a beautiful city to visit even if the track is closed. As some have mentioned bath house row is a neat little tourist attraction. Lake Hamilton is a great place during the summer! It really is a beautiful city.
That's hilarious. Of course it's always a little funnier when ya think it's a sincere, legit missive - but I appreciate the lady's sense of humor nonetheless.
