Alright, this was funny for a video, maybe a ring tone, but a concert? Seriously, people? These people are morons. This is what they consider entertainment? And they're singing along. That is just sad.
First time I ever heard it was that Cher song Do You Believe in Life After Love or something like that.
Well, autotune existed before that, it was just used in a less obvious way. It used to be that they'd set it so there would be a natural bend into the pitch. A slight delay before it got the the actual note. In that Cher song, they set that paramater to 0. It got rid of the illusion of making it sound natural and that's what's led to the autotune boom.
Keith Sweat put out jams like Nobody and Twisted before Cher's song. California Love was also released well before that.
Roger Troutman did not use autotune on California Love he used a talk box. Very different. I don't think Sweat used autotune either.
Ahh ok. Well it sounds fairly similar. I do remember seeing Keith Sweat performing with a plastic tube looking thing (talkbox)..
Me too. Also, JIMMY GONZALEZ y EL GRUPO MAZZ used it: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/prczfO1UHIw?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/prczfO1UHIw?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Now that brings back some memories. Roger Troutman/Zapp was sheer genius. Computer Love, More Bounce To the Ounce (wicked funk), Doo Wa Ditty, I Want To Be Your Man, California Love... I need to download some of that stuff.

How many more appearances before he makes enough to have the surgery to become Antionette Dodson? Seriously. Some people might be getting annoyed by it, but I think it's cool.
