i had a pet rooster once too...my friend had a boa and tried to feed it baby roosters but it didnt take so he gave me one. in about a month it was too big for the birdcage so i let it run around free in the backyard. came home after school and couldnt find him. so i figured he must have escaped or the neighbors cat got to him. wrong. went to put chlorine in the skimer basket and there i found ernie...floating around in circles dead...roosters cant swim...

Let's just say that it's not pleasant at all when you're trying to take a swim in your pool and ducksh*t gets in your mouth...I vomited, and I had to call my pool guy to get the whole damn thing drained and cleaned. Cost me time and money.

But yeah, I see where you're coming from. Its just, I pay 110 bucks a month for pool maitenance...and god knows how much for the actual pool. I didn't spend all that money to have a duck pond in my backyard.

I understand, but what do you expect? They are wild animals. Rather than heaving tennis balls at them, why not just splash the water in their direction or yell at them? It doesn't take much to run them off.

Yeah, I was looking on the internet the other day and looking for animals that ducks are afraid of. Apparently they're afraid of swans...maybe I'll buy a fake swan or something like that and set it by my pool. Don;t know if it'll work, but worth a try.
