Was it ever clear why Houston traded for him? When it was absolutely clear he was a bad leader in Orlando.
Why did they give them 20 million per year?

Would not have happened. Rockets just needed to trade for Ray Allen or any other guy or stick to Cat and Steve. Serious question though. Hindsight.

Nobody cared if he was quitter then because no one thought this guy would not led the Rockets to all these first round exits.

yes he was clearly better than Francis. It was the potential.

nobody saw the quitting in the future, except for the Orlando GM.

I did not know much about McGrady except that he was a flashy player.
Did not watch a whole lot of Magic games back then.

But given the history of old Barkley and Pippen, one could argue the Rockets would be wiser to choose their next superstar.

I think you can foresee decline of a player, and his physical condition.
The same reason Rockets held on Yao for too long.

They just could not find an equally good player and therefore did not want to part with him.

So do you think it is luck, bad eyesight that the organization never ended with Duncan, Kobe after Hakeem?

The Spurs had Robinson, then Duncan, then Parker and Ginobili always having a good cast. I think that is why you look up to the Spurs.
They just had better personnel in the Front Office in a small-ish market.
    And luck with injury.

    Pippen, quit after one year.

I don't know why you put Barkley on the list, Barkley was the best one.
He led the Rockets to the WCF (the furthest we've gotten last)

AND he was paid a league minimum to let Pippen sign the Max.

    Learn your Rockets history dude.

You obviously didn't watch the Rockets or care to because I told you too.

Barkley said after his second year, he was done with the Rockets cause he was TOO OLD. He NEVER QUIT like Pippen.

What the HELL DOES BARKLEY, the COMMENTATOR, have to do with his tenure as a Rocket?

I really don't know if you are really that stupid. I know most McGrady fans are pretty damn stupid.

Why does the Raps quit game carry more weight than Tmac playing through injuries in the playoffs? Why does a single season in which he held the team back carry more weight than years of Tmac sacrificing his body for a team that was rudderless without him?

And if anyone brings up Orlando, they cant just look at 1 season and ignore 3 others where he carried trash. Orlando's GM that traded Tracy wasn't even a basketball guy, he was a hockey guy who didn't understand NBA pecking order, hes the only real quitter, quit the job before his first year was over.

Nah.... you responding to them makes the responder as stupid or even more IMO.

Posters treat you the same way you treat them by not listening to what they say.
    To get even.

i listen to what you say, and i'm just telling what you say
is mostly inaccurate, incorrect, and illogical.

i actually am amazed by the stupidity sometimes.

barkley with the rockets in the same sentence as mcgrady with the rockets?

it's like you never were a rockets fan .
