This is unmistakenly a reference to the Franchise.

But fret not my Devil worshippers, as CD stated on Friday that 99% of corporate ladder talk amounts to nothing. (That is a true quote, but I lost it in the flood.) If Jordan offered you the #1 for Stevie, would you talk. If someone then chimed in on a 3-way and offered a stud and a HIGH pick for that #1, would you talk.

Would you talk about the peripheral players and picks that would take to close the deal?

I would 99% of the time for damn sure.

Are you saying that we trade Francis for the #1 pick, then trade that pick to the Lakers for Kobe and their pick? Wow, that is something. Sure, I'd do it.

I wouldn't say it was an "unmistakable" reference, though it is a possibility.

What player would you see the Rockets getting in return for Francis? Is the player selected 1st this year going to be better than Francis? Personally, I would not trade Francis or Mobley even if it meant passing up superior talent. You don't screw up the kind of chemistry they have created in only 2 years of being together and a little more than half a season of being in the starting lineup together.

There is a difference between listening to a proposed deal and actually considering it.

Why in the hell would LA do that deal? Trade away a 22 year old superstar for a potential bust in the number 1 pick?

No way. There is no way Steve is part of the deal.

I meant another "HIGH pick". See my edit.

Come on TPL, Franchise is without a doubt our BEST friend. You guys don't have it in you to read the complete cryptic scroll of the Devil Rocket.

Speculation is the Devil. Make sure you close your eyes when you get scared.

I say don't trade Francis for anything! Mobley is nearly untouchable as well due to his very close relationship with Francis. I would only trade Mobley for Tracy McGrady or Kobe Bryant. They are just too young and too good to pass up. McGrady was also at a Sac-LA game w/Francis earlier in the playoffs. So I assume they're good friends too! [IMG]

Another HIGH pick and a Stud...does this mean Francis for the #1, then the #1 for the Bulls #4 and Brand?

Explain to me What deal you are talking about. I count about 5 in those devilish doodlings. And there are probably a dozen more not mentioned.

99% of the time they amount to nothing, according to the "dealer" CD.

Fret not about the writings of the Devil. Just close your eyes and hope your BEST friend is there when you open them.

So the Bulls are in effect trading away a number one pick ,in Brand, and the 4th for the 1st? Why trade away a 20 and 10 guy and the 4th pick when the talent differential between the 1st and 4th is going to be minimal?

HeyP, answer my speculative questions please. I would like to know the players you would deem studs in the trade you propose.

Further fueling heypee's unthinkable thought, MJ already offered the #1 for Andre Miller...Cavs turned it down. A seemingly reasonable offer would be the #1, Rip Hamilton, Jahidi White and Etan Thomas for Francis and Cato. Let's pretend we want Curry at #1, and the end result of something as big as that would be
    Curry/White/Collier
    E. Thomas/K. Thomas
    Hamilton/Langhi
    Mobley
    No PG on the roster

Plus our monster supply of cap room, and our 3 draft picks and we'd more than likely keep Moochie to start at PG. Who would have the guts to pull that off? I don't think I do. It's fun to dreamcast, leaving us with 2 20 ppg swingmen, and 3 big, tough rebounding shot blocking big men, along with 2 versatile big men.

Who knows they're the Bulls...they could be EXTREMELY desperate to land Curry...or it could be another number of stud/high pick possibilities...

    #2 and Odom?
    #3 and Ratliff?
    #5 and Jamison?
    #6 and SAR?
    #7 and KVH?
#8 and Miller? (Although I believe the Wiz offered #1 straight up for Miller and were turned down)
#9 and Brickhouse? (The most likely)
    #10 or #11 and Walker?
    #12 and Payton?

Who knows? Doc Rocket help us out!

Rudy and Carrol both have the same view on trades. It does not matter how many people you trade(within reason) just as long as you get the best player out of the deal. I could see us trading numerous players for one stud but there is NO WAY we give up a stud for a bunch of players.

    SF3,

Those scenarios are more likely because the Bulls would be getting an established star in all of those deals. There is no risk involved, whereas there is in only getting back the 1st pick.

Like I said, there's really no point for the Bulls to move up 3 spots. They are going to be able to fill a major hole on their team with the 4th. It's just going to be a different hole they fill than if they had the 1st pick. Also, how does trading away a rookie of the year(Brand-1st pick) and the 4th for the 1st make any sense? There's no guarantee that this year's number one is even going to be better than Brand.

    NIKE,

Do you even think that team is better than the current one? That bunch looks destined for 35 wins.

Where's a Rockbox when you you want to have a private little conversation? By the way, more people should get on Clutch!! ;o He knows everything I know as soon as I know it! Down with Clutch - he's the real traitor!! [IMG] Sorry Clutch, This heat is driving me crazy..well, not really!

Remember Webber?? Just checkin'...WHAT IF THE MAGIC REALLY DO WANT DAVIS????? That's what-if, of course!! Is there double-dealing going on here? Or..maybe triple dealing?? When you C D other team and ask them if they're feeling ok!!

Here's one thing - Walt was gone, the other team dropped out and it was not pursued because the guys want him and they felt the return and the situation was not good for anyone!

I WANT MO T TO STAY - personal input!

    The Rockets r playuz!!!!!

It seems as though the press is high on Rad from Euro - they have good reason! DUNK....ON......RAD!!!

Tale of two Ken's! What a great read!!

NOW, I'm going to take the best-looking femaile poster in this group and make passionate love to her during the draft and procreate my new child with her. He will be young for a long time and then he will go into the draft and he will be chosen!! He will be chosen because he will be talented, not because he's got potential but because he can play!

( I'm serious about that female crack! I'm looking for marriage!! A perfect marriage! A marriage that's obvious to everyone!)

    Uhh.....poof..or puff...same thing!!!

tpl-that's the question. Keep in mind, that's before 3 more draft picks and 15 mill in cap room (also usable for trades).
    Let's Compare -
    D.C. Dreamcasting vs. Houston
    Curry/White/Collier :Cato/Collier
    E. Thomas/K. Thomas :K. Thomas
    Hamilton/Williams/Langhi :Williams/Langhi
    Mobley :Mobley
    No one :Francis

    +picks 13, 18, 23 and cap space similar

The entire front line is vastly improved, SG is the same, you're only subtracting your leading scorer, rebounder, and assist guy, right? [IMG]

Too many wildcards. If you can add Webber in to the team with Francis here, you're better off for certain. If Webber's desire is elsewhere, and you're not going to be getting a big fish with the cap room, paper wise, team 1 is better. You've also got to deal with possible backlash of Francis being traded, and other issues.
    ----------------------
and then Doc Rocket posts further clearing...err foggying things up
Remember Webber?? Just checkin'...WHAT IF THE MAGIC REALLY DO WANT DAVIS????? That's what-if, of course!! Is there double-dealing going on here? Or..maybe triple dealing?? When you C D other team and ask them if they're feeling ok!! Too easy Doc. DC spelled backwards, as in Washington.

As far as two Kens....uhh, Johnson, and the only other Ken around is Kenny Satterfield a PG, unless you count Gregory.

The marriage? Uh, Shane Battier, the guy certainly lacks future potential [IMG] (just kidding, I like Battier a lot). Seemingly a contradictory statement, as "stay young for awhile" would seem to indicate a HSer.

From Doc Rocket: "I was engaged in a little trois-action with two beautiful women..."

Let's make this even more bizarre...Hmmmm...."women", eh? "Two beautiful women" he says...Charlotte is a woman's name, is it not??....what other place bares a woman's name? Atlanta? No. But it's state, Georgia, has a feminine name (even though I suppose it was probably named after King George)...but if we consider Atlanta, don't we also have to consider Miami and Orlando? Afterall I knew a woman named Florida. The question is - which "beautiful women" is it?? Just trying to add something new to the pot...
