Wait, so Hot-to-die is a man? All this time I thought you were a woman and your name was hottie dottie. I never looked closely enough to think anything else. I liked your posts, but now, my whole world has been turned upside down. Was there ever a Hottie Dottie or was I just halucinating. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
PSJ, I'm with you. My life turned upside down when I realized it isn't thecabbage. It's thacabbage. I'll never be the same.
Rodney White went to the University of Charlotte. He's leaving after his freshman year(young, and potential aside, he can contribute right away. Add in the fact that he played in the Kenner League in DC, and you can probably assume that he's gotten some endorsements from a few of the Rockets players, namely Steve and Moochie, probably Cat too since White's from Philly. ------------------
Mutombo is in a love fest with the sixers. If Brown returns as coach, I would be shocked if Mutombo left for Orlando or anywhere else for that matter. ------------------
It's interesting that most of the misspellings come in the second post. Is he feeling the need to be more cryptic? Are these clues intentionally more nebulous because they point to something far more specific? I think so. The first post was much more clear. Rockets looking at several things...possible three-way involving players that have a history of injuries. Looking to move up in the draft, maybe for Battier. Those are the two main points that I can glean from the first post, which I believe to be more straight-forward because we begin by knowing nothing. Our speculation drives us closer and further from the truth, depending on what tangient we happen to be exploring. Now, the second post is much more nebulous, with many individual clues phrased as short one-liners...pointing to, I can only assume, several different alternatives that the Rox are looking at. I've highlighted some of the ones I find most interesting above. I don't have any answers, but maybe some of my questions will spark something in one of you that may lead us down a road that will yield fruit. Any awfully arbitrary use of the word "heat", isn't it? Not a team anyone has mentioned so far I believe. Just a thought. Why does he ask, "WHAT IF THE MAGIC REALLY DO WANT DAVIS?" Does that seem odd to anyone else? I thought that was a forgone conclusion.....why phrase it as a question? Someone, I don't remember who, said they thought C and D were referring to Chicago and Detroit. I think that's the best line of thinking to go down for that clue. It could be Carroll Dawson, I suppose, but how boring! "Walt was gone", "the press is high on Rad from Euro"....... Walt, Euro----------Disney? Another reference to the Magic? Seemed odd to leave out the "pe". He does that again with "r". The "a" and "e" missing. Why? Wild thought referring to the Phoenix line of thought. "MO T" is Tom spelled backwards. Dunno, could be talking out of my ass.....in fact, I guarantee it. God, please don't let "femaile poster" be referring to the only person it really could be referring to if the misspelling is intentional. I just don't think I have the strength to even start down down that road. Interesting use of the word "procreate". Why so many repetitions of "marriage"? Anyone? What are some synonyms for marriage? Someone with more time than I have look that up and see where it leads you. And what about "poof"? Noone has even touched on that, I don't think. "Puff" is referring once again to the Magic, I think. But what about "poof"? I think that could be key. Anyways, these are just some thoughts that I hope might spark some fresh ideas out of the group. They say that having a group of about a thousand people working on a puzzle is better than having the most powerful computer on the planet working on the same puzzle. I figure we have enough like-minded people on this site working on this to at least outdo a Mac or an IBM...maybe a DELL? ------------------ Gascon [This message has been edited by Gascon (edited June 13, 2001).]
Marriage. Wedding, espousal, spousal, nuptials, pledging, mating, matrimony, conjugality, union, match, wedlock, wedded state, wedded bliss, holy matrimony. Getting hitched, tying the knot, getting hooked ... Don't think that does much good. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
This a shot in the dark & a major reach, but there was mentioned a while back by Oeilpere, a possibility of a trade between Houston & New Jersey. Could this be the player that Doc is referring to? 45 Soumaila Samake C 7-0 224 3/18/78 Republic of Mali R http://encarta.msn.com/find/Concise.asp?ti=040E8000 Mali (country), republic in northwestern Africa, bounded on the northeast by Algeria, on the east by Niger, on the south by Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, and Guinea, and on the west by Senegal and Mauritania. Most of Mali consists of low plains broken occasionally by rocky hills. A. Climate The climate of the parts of Mali not in the Sahara is hot and dry with average temperatures ranging from about 24° to 32° C (about 75° to 90° F) in the south and higher in the north. Almost all the population of Mali is African; Islam is the religion of about 80 percent of the population, and about 18 percent of the people follow traditional beliefs; less than 2 percent are Christians. French is the official language but African languages, such as Bambara and Songhai, are widely spoken. Well, let's see. We've got a reference to the "Rockbox" in rocky hills. The "heat" is referred to by the climate of the area. The country is in Northwestern Africa (NOW). The spelling of his name has mail in it & the "Sao" comment, from his first post, could also be a reference to his name. The "femaile poster" comment could be referring to Soumaila as a post up player. The "double or triple dealing" could indicate that either (C)Chicago or(D)Detroit might be in on the deal if needed. The perfect marriage could be referring to the fact that Mali & Nigeria are only divided by the country of Niger(not sure if there are any territorial disputes), which might help us to resign Dream as his tutor. As far as his religion, I'm assuming that he's of the Islamic faith. The perfect marriage & he's only 22 years old. Man, what a reach on my part. The "Tale of two Ken's" could refer to KT & Kendall Gill. 13 Kendall Gill* G 6-5 216 5/25/68 Illinois '90 10 "The Rockets r playuz!!!!!" comment could be referring to the Jersey casinos. Man, I've got to quit reading so much into this. ------------------
Here's another intriguing solution to Doc's clues. http://nba.com/draft2001/playerfiles/ismaila_sy.html?nav=ArticleList Notice that the name has "mail" in it & that he played for NANCY(femaile) in France. He's the type of guard that we have now(a perfect marriage) & might be Rudy's second round steal (ie...Mobley) this year. His stats are pretty good. Just another WAG. Oh wait, we don't have a second round pick...yet. ------------------
Here's my wild guess: tale of 2 Kens = Ken Johnson and Kenny Thomas, the future front court bench of the Rocks. Ken Johnson could be the #23 pick the Femaile= is someone who is young, plays like malone, and he can definitly can PLAY and then some. puff or poof= heck if I know ------------------ President of the Pete Chilcutt Fan Club.
forgot to add: the young guy is probably Rodney WHite. Unfortunately even at 7, we might not get him ------------------ President of the Pete Chilcutt Fan Club.
But the sad part is, it still makes sense. lol! ------------------ "Now it is more clear that it doesn't make sense." -- HeyPeeism at its convoluted best.
This could also point us in the direction of jersey, and who from Jersey is obvious, KVH. ------------------ Liberals favor using artificial means to alter the normal to a state which facilitates and justifies how irresponsible they want to be

NOW, I'm going to take the best-looking femaile poster in this group and make passionate love to her during the draft and procreate my new child with her. He will be young for a long time and then he will go into the draft and he will be chosen!! He will be chosen because he will be talented, not because he's got potential but because he can play! ( I'm serious about that female crack! I'm looking for marriage!! A perfect marriage! A marriage that's obvious to everyone!) Uhh.....poof..or puff...same thing!!! __________________________________ “NOW”—Why is this capitalized? Backwards it is “won.” How did we win? By having a great post player! “Femaile poster”—Playing on the Mailman reference, he’s not saying we’re getting Karl, but instead we’re looking at someone with Karl’s ability. “Procreate”—obviously “create a pro” with one of the draftees. “Chosen!!” is interesting. There’s a link to a story about “Kwame’s Choice” in the draft profile. Cisse went to St. Jude’s, but even though the religious context of chosen might play there, I think he’s too low on the wish list to generate a Doc Rocket riddle. “Female crack”—If you ask me, I would describe everyone’s crack as brown. "Puff..."--We're moving up. My analysis leads me to believe the Rockets are targeting Kwame Brown.
Because, he never touched on the part about "trois equipes", "femaile poster", "The Rockets r playuz!!!", or basically anything about potential trades of players. So, isn't it about time for another Doc Rocket post? ------------------
