Wow, I can't believe we actually got people here who are surprised that we lost today. Last time I checked the Celtics have the best record in the league. The game was also on the road. And not to mention WE DONT HAVE TMAC! As long as when tmac comes back and plays within the system, I see a bright season after the all star break.
guess, the bobcats played them to the wire too....in fact the celtics had to win it on a miracle play, it doesnt mean ****... WE LOST. the celtics were RAPING US and relaxed. our guys took advantage, which is great, but dont act like our team is anywhere near them just because the final score was close. screw moral victories....
I think the Rockets have done 'pretty good' given the Schedule they've been given. I wish we were 17-15 though and not the other way around. Now look at our past 32 games... Lakers 2x Utah Portland Mavs 2x Spurs 2x Suns 2x Denver GSW 2x Toronto 2x Pistons 2x Orlando (and again coming up Friday) and Boston 18 of the total 32 games on the road, the most road games in the NBA. Many times I remember sometimes playing 5 games in 7 nights...it was tough. 19 games against TOUGH teams, where the Rockets messed up is losing against Memphis, Miami, Sacremento, and 6ers generally the games they should have dominated. Those 4 games right there are arguably the only games they should have won, each of the other games...were against Suns, Mavs and seemingly the NBA best...and sometimes on back2back nights. Those 4 games we should have won is the biggest difference other wise the Rockets are 21-11 and about a game or two back from #1 in the west... Now look at their opponents this month alone. Things are going to even out and the Rockets should go on a run this month. NYK 2x Wiz T'wolves 76ers Seattle 2x 7 games we should not drop, the only powerhouse team they play this month are the Spurs. Now games against the Jazz, Hornets, Blazers, those are toss ups...but those 7 games they should win those games and hopefully they will be fine come spring. Things usually even out. If they just beat the teams they are supposed to beat 90% of the time like good teams do, and win the toss up games against good teams they will finish strong and be a top 4 seed again. But it needs to start NOW...no more sleeping they need to take every game seriously now, if they have a bad january you can forget coming back in the West...forget about it, trade peeps and look forward to next season.
Exactly. They were leading by *20* points in the first quarter. That's pretty hard to do. If the Celtics were really up for this game, they probably would have blown us out by 30 or more. BTW, the last time I check, moral victories do not get you into the post-season. Furthermore, only terrible teams look for moral victories. The better ones get the real ones.
"I mean, my gas is high," Garnett said. "You know when you play the best in the league, you can't go in with low gas. You know you've got to have a lot of high octane." Who is KG referring to as the best in the league
Maybe we can get some moral victories against the Knicks and TWolves just like we got one against the 76ers the last time we played them. Oh, wait a sec, we didn't even get that ....
Perhaps the primary reason this game was much closer than I anticipated is that the Celtics were not as mentally prepared for this game with the Rockets as they were for the Lakers last Sunday. As for moral victory, I guess the only way to look at this game is that I thought the game would be a cakewalk for the Celtics when you consider that they blew out the Lakers on their home floor last Sunday. Still, a Rocket win sure would have been nice, though. The team shouldn't let this loss get their confidence down.
I'm not disappoint they lost to the 6ers, even the way they did. Some nights teams just don't have it. That's why you get games like the Grizz beating the Spurs....but the if the Spurs were to play the Kings,6ers,Grizz, and Miami they would have gone 3-1 at least...the Rox went 0-4 the last two months against teams they should have rolled through. They win at least 3 of those games they are 20-12 or 20-11, the teams with good records usually just beat the teams they are supposed to, you play half your season against bad teams...win those games and you'll be fine. Things will even out though and the Rox have a easy schedule this month...they should take advantage of it if not...forget about it, they still 2 games under .500 going into Feb...forget about it in the West.
The "moral victory" stance was my immediate response as well. We played the best team in the league tough until the very end on the road without T-Mac. We're beyond the point of the "what if's" and "should be's" regarding expectations going into the season. Sure, we expected better and it didn't happen. We've moved on. It's a different team now. This was a good game for this "different team" if you get what i'm saying.
I don't buy into the moral victory thing either. It is fun for fans to say 'That's a moral victory.' but Adelman should be angry that his team failed to close another game.
Well, I'm all for positive thinking and supporting our team. I fully expected there to be a transition, with a new coach, new assistants, new players, Scola adjusting to the NBA, chemistry issues, personalities, etc. I assumed we'd have some injury issues too. What I didn't expect was James, Francis and Head to be duds. Maybe one or two, but not all three. I didn't expect none of them to beat out Alston by now. I didn't expect Adelman to take so long to figure out this team or get everyone to buy in. I didn't expect TMac to lose confidence in his teammates and coach. But, who can blame him. Up until the last few games, they haven't stepped up ... and Francis, James and Head still haven't. So, we have some serious problems. I'm glad we're playing with passion again. But, the second TMac comes back, he'll probably go back to being the playmaker again, as long as Alston is PG. I'd like to see Brooks brought along as quickly as possible, at this point. Maybe if he took off, TMac would let him be PG. Watching KG sure makes it obvious we don't have a leader on this team, doesn't it?
so is that moral victory worse than November's series loss? What's the point of discussion anyway, hehe
A moral victory means something if it demonstrates that the future will be different. I think that from this game, I'm pretty certain it will be different, and that's why it is a victory in a certain way. We're going to start winning now, so why don't you relax and just enjoy some basketball now. Folks, quit your complaining, we have a good team and an easy schedule, we're going to win some games, t-mac's healing, and all will be fine. Just don't stress yourself out, we got some fun ball to watch.
