There just has to be something going on off the court. The players are not playing for each other. No motivation. No 2nd and 3rd efforts. No running back on D. No help D. People getting blown by off the dribble with the greatest of ease.

None of these things can not be corrected. They just have to buy in and bond off the court. But that's not happening and no one cares enough to step up.

Could be James and Khloe stuff messing with his head - maybe players resent that he is not focussed but they are just as at fault for not picking up the slack.

I don't even think it's coaching. Even though that has been horrendous.

It's on the players to be energised. There has to be a spark. The guys we look to for that are all flat as tacks.

Again, something internally wrong in the locker room.

    Has to be.

It's no gameplan or defense and a poor camp. Just sloppy and they aren't getting it right. We stink

Well...yeah...they're not excited because they're not playing well like they were last year.

Right now the Rockets just aren't playing well, and they look shellshocked because of it. Don't look confident in their shooting. Don't look like they know what they're doing defensively. They just look lost.

It's time for a new coach.

Ty Lawson cannot be his self when James Harden runs the offense. Patrick Beverley should be starting

Harden let his success from last season...get to his head. He thinks he's on another level...but all he has done so far is prove why NBA voters got it right last season with Curry. Curry keep the Warriors clicking and on schedule...even WITHOUT their head coach.

Harden on the other hand, has been atrocious and essentially forgotten HOW to play off the ball...and essentially trying to play like last year yet again.

Wanna shake up this team??? Trade someone...fire someone. You dont wait to make a change when the season is salvagable. The time is right NOW. No need to fool yourself. The entire team is playing like $%^, especially the teams best players. Howard with his STUPID a## fouls...Harden with his nonchalant passing display and Carmelo like ball stopping play... Ty's game is emptier than his bottle. When the teams best 3 players are playing like @#$@, what else should we expect. #Fire Mchale tonight.

Harden didnt do anything to improve his game in the off-season. He was supposed to strive to become better than Curry as a player, but I think that players MVP vote blew his head up. Curry added like 5 extra feet to his 3pt shot and is pretty much unstoppable right now.

The problem is he's best with the ball... many people were skeptical about the Lawson/Harden combo. I thought it would work. Clearly it's not going to we should have kept the same offense as last year just brought in Thornton and a guy like Mo Williams. Let Harden do his thing and have Williams there for the kick outs.

Sorry man, its pretty much what astute Rockets fans have said for years

McHale just plain sux as a coach

U cant play this poorly nite in nite out against sorry teams and it not be on the coach

Unfortunately the chickens have come home to roost

There's a reason he was voted the coach most likely to get fired first last year by GMs - they were off by a year but still correct

You're making it sound like it's mostly Harden. He takes some blame, but EVERYBODY is playing badly. Has anybody besides Thornton really elevated their play? I mean...for all the talk about how good the depth was on the Rockets, who is playing even remotely well?

Why do people want Harden to play so different from last year? You all weren't happy with last year's production? Geez. We have one of the best weapons in the league, and you all are lusting after a Rip Hamilton clone. Just because an inferior but good player (Lawson) would do better if Harden was off the ball doesn't mean you compromise your (and possibly the league's) best strength.

I actually would think it would be easier for Harden to learn how to continue playing his game but with fewer turnovers than it would be for him to completely change his entire game.

It's the coach. The talent on the court without DMo isn't good enough to override McHale's crappy coaching.

    Nah.

Same coach last year and we did ok.

More to it. Locker room stuff we may never ever know about.

Dmo carried us hard last season before he got hurt and Josh Smith helped our depth at the 4 after that. This season, we just go with small ball every game and get rocked.
