I can't remember if I stole it from the Atlantic, New Yorker, or the NYT magazine, but the apatheology itself, that I had long beforehand.
I knew somebody did that here once, I forgot it was you. I think I called you on it too, or at least wanted to and couldn't work up the energy to care as bnb noted... Golden rule/prisoners dillemma in action...
Actually, I wrote one thread about it on a depression topic a year and a half ago. Not sure about the promo thing. Should I include it in my sig? I'm pretty sure my current sig explains me very well.
Kleptoamnesism. If don't care if you can't remember ... Amoralamnesim And finally If don't care if you can't remember if you stole it ... Kelptoamoralamnesim
It might! I wasn't trying to be flippant with my earlier statement. But whether my little mind can conceive of an omnipotent and almighty God bares very little on whether there is. All I can do is do my best, play the cards I'm dealt and slip the dealer a $20. There might be a God, there might not be. And, really, it doesn't matter if there is. There's absolutely no way any of us can possibly know that. But what I do know is that whether there is a god or not, I wanna look back on my life and be able to say (either to myself, St. Peter, Allah or The Marx Brothers), "I did the best my nature allowed me to do, I loved with all my heart and I did what I could to spread compassion. I f*cked up way more than I did right and I'm truly sorry. I'm just a man." If you can say that at the end of the road, you'll probably be OK regardless of the existence of an afterlife. But that's just me and my terribly humble opinion.
In other words, he doesn't really care sorta like the Rockets (at least until last night). Actually, Deckard, you will be interested to know that I have really gotten into fusion jazz (along with the blues) and now have the first 2 albums by the original Mahavishnu Orchestra. Thanks for turning me onto them! Also, if you are looking for a great fusion album, let me recommend "Mind Transplant" by Alphonse Mouzon. He was the original drummer in Weather Report and also played in Eleventh House (highly underrated fusion band) with Larry Coryell. On this album, he uses Tommy Bolin as his guitar player and this album cooks! It sounds just like an instrumental rock record. Of course, the 2 fusion albums that Jeff Beck did in the mid '70s are great as well. Oh well, we now return to the topic at hand....
This has always been difficult for me to comprehend. I understand having faith and believing in God, but how exactly do you have a relationship with a being that can not or does not confirm its existence.
If the real Jesus Christ were to stand up today He'd be gunned down cold by the CIA Oh, the lights that now burn brightest behind stained glass Will cast the darkest shadows upon the human heart But God didn't build himself that throne God doesn't live in Israel or Rome God doesn't belong to the yankee dollar God doesn't plant the bombs for Hezbollah God doesn't even go to church And God won't send us down to Allah to burn God will remind us what we already know That the human race is about to reap what it's sown Islam is rising The Christians mobilising The world is on its elbows and knees It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds The world is on its elbows and knees It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds The world is on its elbows and knees It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds The world is on its elbows and knees It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds Armageddon days are here again Armageddon days are here again Armageddon days are here again Armageddon days are here From The song Armageddon days are here again by The The
