short season means not as much rocket fan suffering, and dallas fans will be too preoccupied with their ring to realize that we are the last place team in the league and that they live in a ****ty city full of applebees, chills, and AMC cinemas. Also, not a bad draft next summer so why not. The question is how do we tank without pissing off our hard working scrappy guys like lowry, courtney, scola, and ppat. I mean it would be easy to play thabeet, hill, squid-man, some other scrubs like the white damarcus cousins, but that would piss off the others.

there's no better way to see how a new coach will do then to order him to tank...

If they don't alter draft eligibility, it'll be the best since the LeBron Draft
If they make it two years out of high school, it'll simply be a good draft

Next years draft will be nothing like the Lebron draft. You guys are overhyping things as usual. It will probably be equal to the 2010 draft.

BTW, this would be a terrible time to tank. As if there were ever a good time.

Next years draft will have stars going as deep as possibly 8. We need to plan for our future. It's time to tank a season for many good seasons after.

You play to win the championship.

There is no point playing to win games if it doesn't get you anywhere. Mediocre is the worst spot to be

A constant pick around 14 isn't going to ever win us another title. We're not NY, Chicago, Miami, LA, etc. No FA want to come here unless we pay them the big bucks, or have a stud to build around. Time to tank.

    Playoffs? You kidding? Playoffs?!?

We are who we think we are. A Mediocre team that will probably finish right around .500 and end up with the #14 pick AGAIN... Unless we tank.

I hate tanking and the loser mentality as much as the next person but I'd rather forget this season will ever start. The short season will help ease the pain in comparison to a full season of leaving and we have a chance to be rewarded in a nice way. Nobody expects much out of K-mac his first year anyways.

OK, and back to the NBA. Come up with some examples of teams that won a ring without tanking (intentionally or unintentionally) in the couple of seasons before they won their ring...

You want to win every game? Sure.

How do we do that with this current team and talent? In your opinion that is.

And I'm not for tanking, but if there was ever a time we should tank then this is it.

I want us to tank... Bring along PPat, Hill, J-Flynn, Thabeet and Morris and pick some superstar talent out of the draft... As long as we keep Lowry and Martin and one of our bigman steps up it would be best case scenario.. I'd love Dwight though.. but why would he ever come here?...

The Mavs have an incredible big man, top 5 in the NBA and an owner with deep pockets, neither of which the Rockets have.

I think the Rockets really only have 2 ways to go, either push hard for the 8th seed (so that at the least, we can point to the roster next offseason and say to free agents, 'Look, you can put us over the top'), or properly tank and just let the 2009 draft play.
