1. I am not sure that the roster was build to run the Princeton offense once they lost Chuck Hayes, the best passing big man on the roster. It scares me to imagine Jordan Hill and Sam Dalembert trying to make the passes that Chuck Hayes used to make. 2. The vetoed Gasol trade really messed things up. The sets yo ucna run with Gasol and Nene (or Marc Gasol) are a lot different than what you can do with Scola/Dalembert/Hill/Patterson. 3. Perhaps the refusal to run Adelman's offense has to do with the roster moves that the team was trying to make. Reports were that they tried to trade for Gasol during the season, and even right now. Perhaps they don't want to go back to Adelman's offense (which might have helped the team as constituted win a couple more games) and then have to change again.
I doubt that end of bench guys Jonny Flynn, Greg Smith and your boy Thabeet are nearly as good as starters Lowry, Scola and Dalembert. A couple of the guys in the 9th/10th/11th spot of the rotation (like Budinger and Williams) might have a legitimate argument, but these guys got their shots at minutes. As far as development: generally guy with potential rose up above the crowd-- over the last few years, young guys like Lowry, Brooks, Dragic, Landry, Budinger, Lee and Parsons all managed to get minutes and develop their games (to one degree or another). Few of the guys (Jermaine Taylor, Dorsey, Thabeet, Hill, Flynn) they beat out for minutes are ones that went on to make the Rockets greatly regret their decision.
Be angry all you want. .500 with Adelman and no playoffs. and youre .500 with McHale and no playoffs. Its time to trade in the player and not the coach.
I remember fans here were really happy that McHale played those who actually played hard over those who felt entitled. That they liked that Lee's getting more minutes over KMart when KMart's not bothering on defense. And they liked the insertion of Parsons when Morris didn't show he could play SF at this level, while CBud was pulling his usual disappearing act. It's funny how when fans can both love a coach for playing those who deserve it, and then hating him because some players with sense of entitlement get pissed because they're not getting their minutes. Seriously, what's with the flip flopping? You should either like Adelman's style of sticking to your rotation despite horrible play(i.e. Battier, Brooks of last year), and make everyone happy. Or you should like McHale's style of giving minutes to those he feel can contribute more. Both style has its good and bad. Can't have it both ways, folks.
I'd like to know how many people publicly criticize their boss around here. It's not a smart thing to do. If the problems are big enough that you can't shut up and see how it goes, then they need to go to Morey. Otherwise, talking about it won't do anythign besides disrupt chemistry and creat an awkward working environment. Don't forget it's still a job and we don't have any guys who are important enought to call the shots.
T-Will was pissed - confirmed. Morris is pissed - confirmed. Lowry is pissed - confirmed. Lee was hardly getting time until Martin went out. Dally didnt play as much as he should have, so he and Lee could be pissed. It could be said Martin might have been unhappy the way he was being used (game wise). Yeah I could see why some guys might be pissed.
Maybe this is good news. Maybe with all the turmoil we'll do what the Wizards did and blowup the whole team for draft picks and rebuild. Truly, I would like to see Lowry, Martin and Scola gone by the end of the year. We need some change.
So you are saying that sending picks down to the D-League to play in the Rockets system with out having to bear the burden of a Rockets loss on their shoulders hurts them? I would respond that if they were ready to bear that burden they would be starting or coming off the bench. See Parson, Chandler.
Is that rebuild going well for the Wiz? But yes, hopefully Lowry, Scola and xxx will be gone for Gasol and Josh Smith. We can hope can't we?
Lee averaged 25.2 minutes per game while he was coming off the bench. What do you mean he hardly played? http://espn.go.com/nba/player/splits/_/id/3445/courtney-lee
Carl - the loonies and denialists are over whelming us all. Should we beat a hasty retreat to the North's great wall? LOL. Sorry about that Game of Thrones reference.
And why would I care about T-Will and Morris. Did they actually contribute anything? Ever? And, in case you had not heard, Lowry made 200 grand per GAME last year. And you think he has room for complaints. You must be part of those one percenters I keep hearing about.
Sounds like they are angry with Morey. Trade speculation, creating competitions at one position. Assets mantra. Wanting to be traded or shut down their seasons constantly because of pouting. Sounds like Morey that creates it every year with some player.
