the problem is not the players...it's the coach. i was at the game and started a small rudy chant. by the end of the season i'll have the entire crowd chanting for rudy. van gundy's teams constantly average 80-90 pts a game. this is his style of play. however why the hell would i pay that much money to go watch another boring effort by this team. clutch the bear was more enterteining than the game...and that's sad.

    jev5555,

Hate to tell you this, but Rudy is not our coach...you better start getting used to it. I love the guy, but it is pointless for you to dwell on it. This IS JVG's team and give him a chance.

Leslie Nielson in the "Naked Gun", surrounded by exploding fireworks, burning buildings, and a ten-car accident.

Holding up his badge and shouting at the astonished onlookers: "There is nothing to see here! Please disperse. Go back to your homes. There is nothing to see here!"

I think we should Hoosier it up and go with a four man rotation. Worked for Gene Hackman.

So you were a selfish ball hog that would keep dribbling the ball like a madman and then you would refuse to do what the coach told you? :D

Sad how predictable Francis has become? I hate to say it, but mark this as the beginning of the end of the "Franchise" era. It appears he never had the balls to become a true leader, who leads by example instead of always "talking" about it. He has had every opportunity to try to be a player who makes his teammates better, and it’s apparent Steve is a ball hogging, no passing, sh*t talking, cry baby who will learn his place in the near future, when he can no longer out jump other guards. He will learn that basketball is a mental game and why other guards with less talent but more skill and better attitudes achieved more in their careers. I mean please people, it's not like he is a Kevin Garnet!!! KG will do the little things to help his team win, Steve wants the "homerun" because that is what will get him on Sports Center and on the cover of a video game. I tell you people now, things will change, and JVG will not stand for this pass this season, if it even gets past Feb.

As for JVG airing these issues in the media, I not totally for it, but what else can you say when everyone knows where the problems lie, and he has to answer for the shortcomings.

IF IT WALKS LIKE A DUCK AMD QUACKS LIKE A DUCK, IT'S A DUCK!!!

And Steve will waddle his way into a trade.

Geez you mean Stevie is satisfied putting up big stats while his team loses? Who would have ever thought that?

Memo to Stevie - Either play within the system or get ready to become a Clipper. You could be a great player but it's tiem to grow up and realize it's team first, stats second.

Good point. We better get used to not scoring as many points and watching ugly ball.

    Now this makes sense...

This is what I saw Sunday. A busted ass offense. Steve tried to run the plays but they were not working and when it got down near the end of the shot clock, he tried to make something happen.

I hoping Van Gundy learned that making vague comments about your players to the media isn't the best course of action.

    LMAO...

    Too funny, Shady.

I guess I had that one coming. I don't hate JVG, he's just making some mistakes right off the bat. When I watch that team, I can't see where he's left his mark. I don't see the D he's known for and his offense produces nothing but busted plays.

JVG sees all but now he's backtracking to cover himself and protect our Star Player.

Has Van Gundy ever been known as an offensive coach? Everyone is acting like the Knicks were one of the highest scoring teams in the league. What was Jeff Van Gundy's great offensive system in New York?

So are you saying it's similar to your backtracking in the other thread? ;)

Wow, I cant believe the variety of responses here. Give it time, Rome was not built in a day. The scrubs that are seeing minutes will not see that many once the season starts so lets be patient. Amaechi, Mueneke, Braggs, Moochie or Wilks(obiviously one will be the back up), will be hard pressed to make the team much less see valuable playing time.

We dont even have our core players on the court together right now, that is the problem I see. When they are it is for a very limited time. Its not like JVG is leaving them out there until they work out the problem.

    Francis/ ?
    Mobley/Griffin
    Jackson/ Pike/Boki
    Taylor/Griffin
    Yao/Cato:eek:
