    You have a point... but this is all-time greatest Rockets as in individual greatness. Not greatest as a unit.

    Probably get a migraine & soil because last play wasn't drawn up for him.

    Sad legacy.

    Barry never played for the Lakers. Although ironically, and to make your post more on-topic, he did play for the Rockets.

    This is so difficult to do because who do you consider "a Rocket"? I ask, because if it's anybody that played in a Rockets uniform, I can't believe I haven't seen Rick Barry yet. He had his best years way before coming to us, but then so did Clyde Drexler, I guess.

    C - Moses Malone
    PF - Hakeem Olajuwon
    SF - Tracy McGrady
    SG - Clyde Drexler
    PG - John Lucas

    I can't take Moses out of this lineup even though Hakeem is a center. If you asked me to pick between the two at center, it'd be Hakeem. With those 2, no rebound would be lost. Watching TMac and Clyde run the wings in their prime would be sick. And John Lucas would direct that orchestra like no other PG the Rockets have had.

    Because you have some young, uninformed posters here. Not only did they not have moses, but they replaced him with yao freaking ming. If a logical person wanted to say dream and hayes, ok, I will give you that, but not yao.

    They did an All Time Greatest Rosters a couple years back for ESPN, similar to this

    For the Rockets, they have
    Code:
    HOUSTON ROCKETS ROSTER (* PER = Player Efficiency Rating)
    POS PLAYER HT YEAR AGE PTS REB AST PER*
    [COLOR="Red"][B]G 	CALVIN MURPHY[/B] [/COLOR]	5-9 	1978 	29 	25.6 	2.2 	3.4 	19.5
    Comment: One of the game's great little guys, more of a scorer than point guard -- was 5th in scoring in '78
    [COLOR="Red"][B]G 	KENNY SMITH [/B][/COLOR]	6-3 	1991 	25 	17.7 	2.1 	7.1 	18.3
    Comment: Key member of Houston's back-to-back title teams in '94 and '95, he'll handle the rock on this team
    [COLOR="Red"][B]G 	SAM CASSELL [/B][/COLOR]	6-3 	1996 	26 	14.5 	3.1 	4.6 	16.8
    Comment: He's been a winner on several different teams, but he won two titles in Houston
    [COLOR="Red"][B]G 	MIKE NEWLIN [/B][/COLOR]	6-4 	1976 	27 	18.6 	4.1 	5.6 	17.4
    Comment: Not only could he hit the jump shot, he had that great '70s beard
    [COLOR="Red"][B]F 	TRACY MCGRADY[/B][/COLOR] 	6-8 	2005 	25 	25.7 	6.2 	5.7 	22.9
    Comment: Didn't reach his All-NBA 1st-team status of '02 and '03, but was still 6th in scoring
    [COLOR="Red"][B]F 	ELVIN HAYES [/B][/COLOR]	6-9 	1971 	25 	28.7 	16.6 	2.3 	19.4
    Comment: Rembered as a Bullet, but spent first four seasons with San Diego/Houston Rockets; an absolute monster in his early days
    [COLOR="Red"][B]F 	RUDY TOMJANOVICH[/B][/COLOR]6-8 	1974 	25 	24.5 	9.0 	3.1 	20.5
    Comment: Began stretch of five All-Star seasons in '74; hoping for matchup against Kareem and Lakers in conference finals
    [COLOR="Red"][B]F/C 	RALPH SAMPSON[/B][/COLOR] 	7-4 	1985 	24 	22.1 	10.4 	2.7 	27.4
    Comment: Before injury problems, he was good enough to be 2nd-team All-NBA in '85
    [COLOR="Red"][B]C 	HAKEEM OLAJUWON [/B][/COLOR]	7-0 	1995 	32 	27.8 	10.8 	3.5 	26.0
    Comment: Had one of the all-time great playoff perfomances in '95, averaging 33 per game in winning title
    [COLOR="Red"][B]C 	MOSES MALONE[/B] [/COLOR]	6-10 	1982 	26 	31.1 	14.7 	1.8 	26.8
    Comment: Three-time MVP was never more dominating than in '82; arguably the greatest rebounder in game's history

    No Yao Ming, no Steve Francis, no Clyde Drexler, no John Lucas. Of course no Barkley. They put McGrady cuz he spent most his years with Houston, that's fair. Cuz if that were the case where you could put anyone that was ever a Rocket, you could put Kevin Willis and Mutombo on the Rockets and that'd be the meanest leanest frontline ever.

    I don't agree with all their picks, maybe its those guys you can use for the bench.

    C: Moses malone
    PF: Hakeem Olajuwon
    SF: Tracy McGrady
    SG: Clyde Drexler
    PG: Scottie Pippen (Let Pippen and McGrady share the ball-handling)

    Well rounded line-up on offense.

    Size advantage at every position. Rebounding advantage.

    Excellent interior and perimeter defense. Will shutdown all passing lanes.

    The only weaknesses on this lineup would be 3-point shooting...

    ...and the fact that they would never make it past the 1st round.

    C: Moses Malone -- Absolute monster on the boards. Defined the word "Beast"
    PF: Hakeem Olajuwon -- Versatility, I'm FAIRLY certain he can handle the position.
    SF: Tracy McGrady -- Best the Rockets have had at the position.
    SG: Clyde Drexler -- (screw Portland)
    PG: John Lucas -- great distributor, low turnovers, true point guard. Even with personal demons, always a good little floor general.

    Bench: I just want this team to run the other one outta the gym. Who needs facilitating when you got these guys
    C: Elvin Hayes
    PF: Ralph Sampson
    SF: Robert Horry -- (Could even put Rudy T at PF and SAMPSON at SF :eek:)
    SG: Steve Francis -- say what you want about his iso balling, the guy had talent.
    PG: Calvin Murphy -- Hall of Famers off the bench. There's still CHAMPIONSHIP winners and All-NBA players not picked.

    Rockets might surprisingly be the 2nd most stacked team in the Western Conference the past few decades behind the Lakers.
