I just can't see not putting Hakeem at the center spot, I didn't want Moses at the 4, and I have to pick Dream over Moses (which is not as easy a call as some might believe) so Hayes at the 4 looked damned good to me. I got to see them all play, btw. As I said, we could come up with an amazing bench! Put Ralph at the point. He always thought he was one, anyway. :p

Center is tough, isn't it. Rockets can make an argument they had the best center in the league during 3 different eras...Moses in the late 70s/early 80s, Dream from the late 80s to the late 90s and Yao from 2004-2008.

    C Moses Malone
    PF Hakeem Olajuwon
    SF Tracy McGrady
    SG Clyde Drexler
    PG Sam Cassell

McGrady and Drexler are clearly to me the two best swingmen to play for the rockets.

I went with Moses over Yao because he was a better finisher and a dominant rebounder, but i cant disagree with those that would prefer Yao

Replace Murphy with John Lucas and you have a line-up that could match up against any other starting five ever.

I don't think Yao makes the cut.

    PG: Steve Francis
    SG: Clyde Drexler
    SF: Tracy McGrady
    PF: Charles Barkley
    C: Hakeem Olajuwon

I don't understand why people are putting Steve Francis.

He played great when the offense was designed for him to go isolation.
setting up the offense for Dream, Moses or Ralph, hell no.

I thought about Lucas, but had to go with Murph because of his offense, he was a good defender for his size, he was a good point when he played the point, not John Lucas good, few would be, but good, and he was tough as nails, and that's ignoring that he was one of the best in the history of the league at the line.

People forget how freaky Ralph Sampson was...If he's not the goto player on a championship team, he's definitely the Pippen of Big men.

Our best creator of all time is T-mac, so the starting 5 would need to include him. If he is forced to be a spot up shooter, with all our great big men, I think he'd excel doing that...

PG - John Lucas, 1986 - Lucas doesn't get the love he deserves. The '86 team, when healthy and not suspended, is probably the best team in Rockets history.
    SG - Clyde Drexler, 1995
SF - Rudy Tomjanovich, pre-punch - Some people have no idea how good he was
C - Moses Malone, 1981 - I was tempted to go Twin Towers, but Moses was just TOO good. I feel a good coach could make him fit with Dream.
C - Hakeem Olajuwon, 1994 - GROAT. Was tempted to take 1992 Dream over 1994.

You know how frustrated I'd be watching Francis dribble out the clock on the rest of those guys? Drexler would force a trade by mid-season for a real PG.
