By the way, my post was not aimed at DD by any means, I was actually referring just as much to the guys who brought Darfur into the thread.

I think people get to cuaght up in these people's personalities. I probably would dislike half of NBA players if I was a fan of their personalities.

Darfur has about as much to do with T-Mac's fan hate as OJ Simpson's football career does with his criminal charges.

Do you know the percentage that is actually donated to darfur?

(Im not bashing anyone, but I think I will donate and want to know what percentage goes before I do).

I'm actually not sure. I've tried checking before but all I can find are reports of other foundations that were only giving like 50-60% percent of their donations to Darfur. I suppose that's a good thing, since only the bad charities get reported.

Agreed. I know I sure wasn't concerned with his work in Darfur when I was pissed about him dogging it on the court last year. At the same time, I didn't his he was a terrible person overall bacause of how he behaves on the court. Gotta keep the two separate.

If it is 50-60%, that is a bit too low for me. Its a ton better than most (30-35%) but ill stick with World Vision. They donate 90 or 92%. Its amazing.

DD, its not about a argument, i'm making a point. You bashed the amount he contributed to the darfur project, but u act like only rich people or famous people can impact lives. I made a comment about DD's impact on lives. Like I've said before, maybe next time I go down to pierce elevated to feed and clothe homeless people,I should come here and see who would like to meet me down there. Minimizing an effort if you're not putting forth a effort yourself doesn't leave room to talk. I'm just saying.

Well, since you don't know squat about me, and what I do is not for the cameras or for anything other than the people that benefit, I see no value in bringing it in here, it is no ones business, certainly not yours....

Look leeb we agree on a lot of things and I respect your take on bball, it is mostly right (LOL).....but Tmac, I am sorry, he is the guy at the YMCA that is the most talented player on the floor but because of his mental weakness, and lack of understanding how to close, or win games, always loses the tough games and blames it on his teamates.

    DO NOT WANT.

I completely understand not liking a guy because he dogged it on the court (aka, Tracy for a lot of last year), but bashing the guy because he doesn't exactly jump at the bit to go out and sign autographs is a little ridiculous.

Guys like Tracy (and Yao) probably get asked for autographs so much that it annoys them. I might be mistaken, but haven't there been a few stories about Yao doing a similar thing? I think I remember some people talking about how Yao didn't want to sign autographs at some point. There probably aren't many people here that would consider Yao to be a bad person.

And the "cameras" comment would usually work on anybody else, but you have to realize that we're talking about Tracy here. I mean, he's the guy that picked the Lakers to win the Championship while his team was still in the playoffs (and he didn't even mention the Rockets). I always thought Tracy was one of those "what you see is what you get" kind of guys on camera.

Difference is Yao bleeds Rocket blood, while some believe Tmac bleeds from his mangina.

It's unfortunate how there is a bad history of Tmac with his teams. Raptors, Magics and last years act.

DD, he's not the guy at the ymca. That guy never made it to the nba . I don't care if he signs a basket as long as he can help win games.

To be fair, there were good and bad times. I am still hoping he returns humbled and matured.

Thanks. You made it very clear that you do not want him. BUT you have to live with the fact that our owner does no matter what happens to HIM at the trade deadline.

I believe both teams he left on a sour note...time will tell, I do expect him to have a good year, he is more motivated, contract year, and Yao-less(he will get the green light to shoot alot)

By Feb, Rocket fans will know if Tmac will be with us for the next 2-3 years.

Your a regular poster so I'm sure I will get bashed but the dude is not a slave to the rockets organization.....It gets old pretty fast having a bunch of nut riders asking for autographs all the time. Tracy is only human.

These weren't just any "fans" at the McAllen event, though. They had to pay $250 to participate in the dinner, and there were also tons of sponsors and team (Vipers) owners at the event. Everyone was cordial and went out of their way to be gracious. T-Mac, however, made a complete ass of himself, and as a result, since people associate him with the Rockets, it leaves a bad taste in people's mouths about the team.

Also, I might add, at the "open practice" on Sunday, he sat on the bench ... in socks. Just thought it was odd. While everyone else was, of course, in shoes and shooting around some and then exchanging pleasantries with a few fans here and there, McGrady stayed with himself and Keith Jones and basically made sure to not even approach the crowd, let alone embrace it.

Hahaha poor DaDakota has to deal with the fact that Les loves Tracy and he'll be re-signed. Deal with it.

I guess guys like Lance Berkman is also a phony since he's been known to not sign autographs? The only one looking bad here is you and your cute little soapbox.

    Jonathan Feigen addresses this issue:

    [rquoter]Jon,

Did you cover the RGV 'open practice'? There have been stories in print and on online forums about McGrady not receiving fans very well over there.

Is this just a few disgruntled fans or is there a story behind this?

    Thanks

(There was a story in the paper here today about yesterday's autograph signing appearance by Brooks and McGrady. He was overheard saying he was ready to leave. Today's open practice and autograph session was horribly organized by the Vipers, who put out a schedule without consulting with the Rockets basketball operations people. They had people waiting outside for at least an hour before they let most in, and the open practice did not start until about an hour after promised, lasting only about six minutes. McGrady really did not do anything during the open practice. Half the team signed autographs today with the other half signing tomorrow. -- Jonathan)

Pretty silly for the Vipers to not consult with the Rockets before organizing a schedule. It was, indeed, incredibly disorganized and chaotic, and it's too bad most people will blame the Rockets opposed to the Vipers, who seemingly ran the weekend with their heads cut off.
