-30.................don't read too much in to the over rated +/- stat, it is a rubbish stat as it is not as an individual stat as it is made out to be. That stat also counts on your team mates being good as well. These kids are rookies, let them grow and play, only going to get better with experience
Neither of these guys are any good defensively. They should’ve signed bigs like dedmon. But this all goes back to our silly philosophy of stretch 5s and small ball. Such an odd signing.
Thats not his plus minus, that's his on-off court splits. It's a number showing how much he hurts his team on offense and defense when Jalen Green is on the court. He causes the Rockets' defensive rating to shoot through the roof because he's the 2nd worst defender in the NBA and he causes the offense to tank. He's arguably the 2nd worst player in the entire league according to some metrics.
You want to start four 19 years old and one 21 years old? You can do that like NCAA if we actually have a system. Theis knows his role, he's actually doing a decent job. I actually think he and KPJ work better than Wood. Wood tries to do too many things he's not good at.
Wait... We have a player somewhere on this team that is starter material?? Right now I don't think we have one starter caliber player on the entire team. Sengun is a foul/turnover machine right now and would foul out quickly, Woods misses 60% of his defensive assignments and is playing more like a SF than a C. Nwaba?
Theis would make sense as a starter if anyone else in the starting lineup was a + shooter. A non-PG at the 1, a 19 year old rookie at the 2 and Tate/Wood at the forward positions with an offensive zero at center is a hilarious miscalculation if you’re trying to approach an NBA-level offense. Why wouldn’t every team just leave Theis out on the perimeter to chuck threes? (See the last possession vs Denver)
