Can you give Yao some tips on what to do if an opposing player so much as touches him and falls down the refs call foul on him? If he can do something about it I am sure his coaches have already told him but what do you do with a bunch of biased officials? And no, Donaghy was not the first official to have done what he did and his revelations in his 60 Minutes interview were not the first time that such assertions on fixing games have been made. If you think there is real integrity in the NBA I have a bridge in San Francisco that I could sell you for a bargain.
Do what shaq did, which was to punish players on the other end. Anyway I think the officials treatment of Yao has gotten much better in the last 2 years, he actually gets away with a lot, he still occasionally gets targetted, but he does have a lot of leeway these days.
Any player who can penetrate needs to be able to shoot well from the outside just in order to keep the defense honest. Remember when teams would leave Rafer wide open all game? They'd rather let him shoot and keep the paint well guarded. The reason Lowry is successful is that he tends to penetrate before the defense is setup. You just don't see him try and penetrate in a half court set. I'd argue as well that even though he doesn't shoot or penetrate that much in a half court set, he still needs to guarded because of his ability to draw fouls and offensive rebounding....some things Rafer was never good at. All that said however, he is much better suited coming off the bench, IMO.
