You're 30 years old. Bingo. My point is, professional wrestling was and always has been built on spectacle. There's more of an element of realism these days because of kayfabe being broken, but that doesn't change the spectacle of professional wrestling. A good wrestling show has something for everyone. Good technical wrestling, larger than life personalities, spectacle. That's what makes the WWE mainstream. Those of us getting older, even in our 20s, let alone 30s will begin to find these spectacle aspects silly and we'll roll our eyes, but the kids eat it up. And in fifteen years, they'll complain about something silly that happened on Wrestlemania 45, too. What's TRULY silly is the refusal to let Cena look bad pretty much ever. HHH used to get all sorts of accusations about this behavior and now he's tapping clean to Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania, putting people over by giving them his rub regularly, etc. To me, it's clear that either someone in creative or Cena himself don't understand the concept of the babyface comeback. The cage match in itself made no sense. Looking dominant only to lose because of a creepy kid doesn't make sense. But, it doesn't make sense because the booking was bad, not because it was over the top. Cena's facial expression when he saw the kid was Hulk Hogan in the Dungeon of Doom bad levels of acting.
WWE really needs to get Brie away from Bryan. I understand their attempt at this storyline with Brie in it but Bryan doesn't need her, plus she can't act at all. Her screaming in the car this past Raw was comical.
That is and has been my biggest issue with the feud. I explained it last page which is why the over the top stuff gets to me. Why go over the top with it if SuperCena just keeps coming out no matter what the odds. That cage match made Bray look worse to me than anything they do outside the match in terms of storyline. The Wyatt brothers looked like bumbling sidekicks. If the feud was actually booked well (although Bray has been giving some great promos) then stuff like that wouldn't seem as eye roll worthy to lots of people.
To me you just have to accept the fact that Cena is not going to change anytime soon, he is going to always look strong. His character is not for us, it is for the kids and they want him to be a superhero... Cenas character is going to always annoy adults but thats kind of the point now, to get the adults and smart fans to follow Bray and have the kids fighting for John. And its not like he doesn't know what he is doing either, like at Extreme Rules he wanted to get the crowd behind Bray so what is the first thing he does? Slap on a headlock to piss off the people that say he is boring, and it works perfectly. The storyline isn't perfect but its got me hooked and i love all promos Bray cuts on John.
To those who watch NXT on occasion, really good show this week. The product has been in kind of a lull in recent months, but they are starting to refill the cupboard Kalisto debuted, and he is as sick as advertised, and unlike Sin Cara he is american so he can actually cut a promo, and avoid botching every 5 minutes. He is the Rey Mysterio replacement they have been looking for. Alexa Bliss also debuted, and showed a few cool moves, and got a busted lip for her troubles. She's gonna get over pretty quick down there, I certainly like her. On the opposite side Emma brought the sock down to NXT ... smh Sami Zayn needs to be promoted already, he is just treading water down there, can't wait to see him and Cesaro on the big show.
Sucks that Bryan has to get neck surgery, i winder if they are going to strip him of the belt. This is why they didn't put the belt on him in the first place, they didn't think he could handle it.
and part of the reason they like 6 foot guys is they don't think they get hurt as easy. This is exactly why John Cena has been the guy for a decade and nobody has been able to take that spot from him, He doesn't get hurt and when he does he heals very fast. Everybody that they try to put in that spot gets hurt or loses steam except for CM Punk and he is gone now.
Pretty sure the neck surgery is a storyline angle. And even still Bryan has worked the last 3 years (250 shows a year) at his frantic style. He doesn't get hurt very easily.
I think you might be right, it could be pretty awesome, they could hold like a tournament for the vacated belt then have Daniel Bryan come out at the last minute and defend the belt, the place would go bonkers!
WWE is in real trouble right now, their stock plunged nearly 50% today... http://www.forbes.com/sites/maggiem...rly-50-as-nbcuniversal-deal-fails-to-impress/

Who's excited for Payback? Its kinda rough because they are basically just continuing the same feuds but I think it bodes well for the young guys like the Shield and Bray Wyatt. Im really looking forward to Bray and Johns match, I know the storyline is pretty mediocre but I think its good that they are letting him work with John so much, It makes me feel like they have faith in Bray so hopefully they will put him over!
Also they are pushing Jericho pretty hard on WWE.com and the Network so I wouldn't be surprised if see him soon.
Given the storyline on Raw from Monday, I wouldn't be completely surprised if Brad Maddox got involved in the Evolution vs Shield match. In fact, I wouldn't be totally shocked if Maddox joined the Shield in a managerial capacity.
