If you are in the mood for a salad, Sweet Tomatoes can be ok. Much better than Soup & Salad.

I like Cafe Express, but I've only gotten their salads and pasta's so I don't know how the rest of the menu taste.

Most people like Sweet Tomatoes. I don't. There's no meat in the whole place, and they're overpriced.

    Cafe Express isn't bad.

    Berryhill Tamales sucked balls.

And I mentioned before that Taco Milagro sucked, but I'll go ahead and do it again: Taco Milagro food is garbage.

Black-Eyed Pea restaurants used to be good, but now they suck ass.

    Same with Ninfa's.

The Doneraki restaurant on 1960 is crap.

I think their salads are good, haven't been impressed with any of their soups though.

Do y'all just not like fish tacos?!?

Ditto. The chain ones aren't as good as the original, but I dig that place.

I never understood the appeal of:

    -Marco's (cheez whiz enchiladas)

    -Los Tios (just lame)

-Cafe Express (overpriced for what it is)

-certain local BBQ places. We used to have Demeris cater our events at Rice and that stuff was just about inedible. I've never been to Luther's, but my parents did and they wrote a complaint letter. They usually don't do that kind of thing.

You are absolutely correct. Why Los Tios when there are so many GOOD Mexican restaurants in Houston?

    Berryhill bites.

You want decent fish tacos, try El Pueblito on Richmond.

Hell, Cabo downtown has better fish tacos.

My vote goes to Steak Kountry Buffet on I-10 near Antoine. That place blows. I remember that I ate the ribs that were probably from a great dane, and I was sick for 3 days after. Also notable was a family sitting next to me that was cheering their portly son on while he was inhaling greasy steaks.

When I was at Berryhill Tamales, I ate ... their tamales (not the fish tacos). And their tamales sucked balls.

Cabo has good fish tacos (though expensive).

I am deeply ashamed to admit I will eat at a Landry's restaurant. I like Vic and Anthony's - the crab cake is the best I have ever eaten. The filet mignon is very good. I like la Griglia very much. the crabmeat / shrimp cheescake appetizer is excellent. Also try the bread and Autumn salad.

I would rather go hungry than eat at Joe's crab shack. I have never even had a decent meal at a Landry's seafood.

I am not impressed with the Grotto.

I have eaten at Mia Bella on Main like 3 times beacuse there is no place to eat downtown at times. I have been hungry and desparate and left there hungry and disappointed. I have only eaten at nite on weekends- in all fairness it may be better at lunch.

Cabo's has the best grilled fish tacos.
Berryhill has the best fried fish tacos.

Phat Ky is really good as long as your order the authentic stuff. Stay away from their lunch specials and their americanized dishes.
    Try the razor clams!

And you guys can't complain about buffets. Most buffets are about quanitity not quality, unless they're charging $25 or more, you can't expect much.

Downtown Aquarium is like The Oasis. Go there for the views (entertainment etc.) not for the food.

    Agreed. Overpriced crap.

I also don't see how people still spend money to eat at Joe's.
