I did search without any luck.. I wanted to get some oppions of what are some of the worst restaurants in Houston... I.E. Restaurants that are unique to Houston or a small chain... I would like to stay away from the posts of large chains I.E. "The Olive Garden on I-10 SUX" For me I cant stand the Las Cucos.. dirty, bad service, small plate size and even worse food.. I've been to the 4 locations Old Katy, Katy Mills, Clay, and College Station.. all were forced.. So whatca got??
the lower priced mexican places that are chains....little mexico comes to mind. there are local establishments that serve great mexican food very cheap...la hacienda on memorial near dairy ashford comes to mind in that category. so i'm not saying that just because it's cheap, it's not good. but there are a group of chains out there that serve crap and call it mexican food.
How dare ye sayeth ill things about Panchos! Heretic! It's not in Houston, but Salsa's in Galveston was pretty terrible the one time I ate there. Funny how nothing but Mexican restaurants have been mentioned? I've never been there, but I've heard that Drexler's BBQ isn't that good...
The one near our house closed down a long tima ago, but I thought Tony Roma's was horrible BBQ. I always have been disappointed in California Pizza Kitchen. The two times I have been to Perry's Steakhouse, my steak was cooked incorrectly, I had poor service, the side dishes tasted like they had been cooked in the morning and left in the oven all day to keep it warm plus it was very expensive. They have a nice atmosphere, but the food and service was not good.
Strange, I've only had good experiences at Perry's. Which location did you go to? I've only been to the Clear Lake one.
Wow.....I've had nothing but great experiences there. To me, the worst steak place is Smith & Wollensky. Morton's is better, but not by much.
Salad Express Ryan's Steakhouse - kidland Golden Corral = you are the cattle Panchos what the **** 20 years ago. It's hard to say goodbye.
That's the one I've been to. Excellent Chateau Briand or fillet topped with gorgonzola and port sauce. Fried asparagus topped with lump crab doesn't suck either. The desserts are excellent, and they have the best wine list outside of the loop.
HAHA, That's funny, was it bad review?? I get that paper in the driveway and just toss it in the trash.. The few times I have read that it was all local ADs for stuff, or was that the SUN?? oh well.. funny though..
Pancho's is awesome, and it is a chain. Drexler's ribs are actually quite good. Bad restaurants? Jalepenos on Kirby isn't good. Buca di Beppo was awful the last time we went. The Palm is the worst Steakhouse in town, unless you're looking for a hooker. Yia Yia Mama's has some bad greek food, which is ironic because this is the only Pappa's chain that actually serves their native food. I have never been a fan of Los Tios. It's only good if you have a medical condition that says you can't have anything spicy. Miyago has some bad sushi. Don't bother with it. This is really an unfair list. Chances are, if you have a bad experience at a rewstaurant, you aren't going to frequent it. Let's stick ti restaurants we like from now on.
I went to the one in the Woodlands first...and it disappointed. I then tried to give them another chance at the Champions location they just opened up on Cypresswood...not very good...although they were only open for about a week when I went the second time, so it might have been growing pains for that location.
