just ask anyone to read the translation, to see what they think about "jealous" means to Yao in the article.

Unless I need to brush up my Chinese, I can attest the original word in the article written by the Chinese reporter is indeed "jealous."

Does it sound like Yao? What do I know. But c'mon, unless you are Mother Teresa type, wouldn't you be a bit jealous if you were Yao in his situation?

I don't care it's jealous or not. All my responses are based on thread's first post by a Chinese fans (see below), and he said the original article did not mean "jealous" (sour grape aka). And you said it does mean "jealous". LOL, I don't know who's correct. If you want to argue, argue with bjshot, don't argue with me. I am not the judge of you two.

Being a little jealous is one thing, acting on it and cause the team to implode is another thing. Who among us mortals can say they are never jealous of others at one time or another. Being "a little" jealous and still doing what is right for the team is what seperates Yao and Kobe.

    WTF? WC? My bff Jill?

What does it matter what jealousy means in Yao's context. I don't think the problem will ever be will Yao mesh with so and so. Yao (like Dream) seems like the nicest guy ever, I don't understand how this could ever be misconstrued?

Speaking a negative feeling needs courage! That means 'unsoft'. I am happy Yao can speak his true feeling, and he will be dominant in NBA. From now, I am becoming a Yao's fan.

Yao can speaking out his own negative feeling, it means Yao can face himself. I hope Tmac can do the same thing.

but use the correct word please. "Jealous" means Yao is not happy with his teammates achievement, aka, he wants to see his teammates to fail. Is that a good teammate's attitude? Go figure.

Jealous or not, it is not big deal. All I know is that neither TMac nor Yao has passed the first round. With new coach, additional several good players, I would say two teams from Houston and Boston meet the NBA final this year.

Do you know the basic reason of the psychological problems is that the people cannot face their negative feeling? In fact, the best way to solve the problems is facing them and speaking out.

I admire Yao for it! I believe he will be very successful in this new season.

The first playoff game against the Jazz, Yao scored 28 pts and had 13 rebs. TMAC scored 2 pts in first half but came back to score 21 in second half to help rockets to a victory. What do you hear in the media? Everything was about TMAC saving the rockets. I suppose a normal feeling person should not feel a hint of jealousy after that. Did Yao cause any problems after that game? You make it sound like Yao did something terrible.

LOL, so Yao wants to see his teammate (i.e. TMAC in this case) to fail. What an excellent teammate Yao is LOL.

Not true all the time, people say lots of it, not big deal in USA. The key is to win a NBA title, if you are winning, everthing becomes great, other ways, everthing becomes negative. That is a life.

Quit being anal, dude. Wishing yourself to be more successful than your teammate doesn't amount to wishing him to fail. Your time is up in this thread.

then you should say he thought that's not very fair, not "jealous", cause the latter hint he's not happy with TMAC's achievement, and even worse, the word hints that Yao hope TMAC would have failed and he'd like to see TMAC fail as a player. WOW what an excellent teammate YAO is, just amazing.

Jealous is a normal human emotion. Nothing should feel shame of it. If anyone says he or she never had that emotion, I think that person should go to see a doctor.

Some people just overact to 'jealous'.
