who did they poll and how did they ask the question? someone can easily make a racial agenda like this if they wanted to with the right audience
If you would read the article, they explain the methodology, which seems fairly reliable. It was an online Reuters poll, which I suspect might actually lead to under-reporting (i.e. 40% is actually lower than reality) because I think those with multicultural social circles are more likely to respond.

Not really. Depending on how the polls were targeted, four thousand people may be a large enough sample size to draw general conclusions about the entire population. It's basic statistics.
