    I wish the rockets had a better bench, but at least artest unlike odom isn't soft.

    I still say the Lakers are the better team, they got to the finals without Bynum in the middle. They have proven themselves as contenders, all Houston has at the moment is being good on paper and if any team should know that isn't good enough, it should be Houston.

    As far as this offseason goes, Houston have added Artest, New Orleans have added Posey and the Lakers will be adding Bynum so I don't think any team has jumped over the other. Houston has jumped ahead of San Antonio and Utah and on par with New Orleans but just below the Lakers.

    Wait for the season to start to see how Artest fits in and see where it goes before claiming the Rox are going to win it all.

    That's a great point. Too bad the Rockets can't add a 7-footer to their lineup who wasn't part of last year's playoff mix.

    :rolleyes:

    Are people forgetting we have Brent Barry as well? That's a HUGE part of our bench, in my opinion. The veteran leadership, the playoff experience, the dead-eye 3pt shoting, the ball handling, and general basketball acuity all add up to an important "glue guy" type of role. Shane and Brent will play important roles keeping our starters fresh this season.

    Because people act like Yao was playing during the playoffs. The Lakers added Gasol and will "add" Bynum. The Rockets have now added Artest and will "add" Yao.

    Yao/Artest is much, much better than Gasol/Bynum?

    Don't Know if we can develop Dorsey to a good defender. If so Gasol won't be a big problem to us anymore. Our issue is we don't have size combined with defence at PF right now.

    Perkins< Gasol
    KG > Odom
    Ray Allen < Kobe
    Paul Pierce > Sasha
    Rando = Fisher

    Bench

    Celtics < Lakers

    Lakers have no solid team defense. That's why Celtics won the title, lakers didn't this summer.

    With Artest & Battier, Celtics have NO inside game against Rockets, NO chance!! Because KG basically is a jump shooter instead of a post-up player. The team that dominates the paint will prevail in the final.
