What if the Rockets had won game 7 in LA and went to the WCF in '09? Could the momentum of beating the eventual champions have carried us to the Finals? To a Ring? The way we played LA, there's no doubt in my mind we could have went toe-to-toe with the Nugs and Magic that year. Could that team have become the most longshot, out of nowhere champion in the history of the NBA (and, arguably, the history of sports)?
no way we could have won. No way man. Magic would have murdered us. Now a real question is What if we would have won against the jazz in that game 7 at home...
thats impossible, because the knicks would not have been able to sign amare because they would spend there money on lee. duh. what if portland had drafted MJ in 1984 instead of sam bowie?
I read back in the day that it was very close to happening. I think 5 titles wouldn't have been out of the question.
Wasn't T-Mac the backup plan when they didn't get Duncan? I thought the Magic only had room for two max free agents that summer.
I'm not sure, I thought they had enough room for all 3. I could be wrong. It still would've been sick.
What if in 1984 the Rockets drafted The dream #1, traded Ralph Sampson to Portland for the #2 pick and Clyde, and picked Barkley (I know if they had the #2 pick they probable would've picked Bowie too, but this is the "what if" thread)? Lucas Drexler McCray Barkley Hakeem
Why would the Rockets have picked Bowie with the #2 pick right after taking Hakeem? They probably would have taken MJ.
That's pretty crazy. Even with Grant Hill's injury problems, a team with T-Mac and Duncan would have dominated the league for years.
